And I will continue to whine and pester Mommy until she tells me. Or, I will wait until she has a big bunch of Koreans from her church over to the house and I will come over for free food (I do this a lot) and ask them. I have to speak to them (the Koreans) in German though, so let’s hope shumyunsiki translates to a word I understand in German.
I know you’re not ungrateful, and I do understand how you feel. But wait 10 years. Then you might realize what a wonderful experience you are having.
You grandmother gets up early to make you lunch, not because she has too, not because you can’t feed yourself, and not because she doesn’t trust you with the peanut butter. She makes you lunch because she loves you. And with an 18 year-old, there aren’t too many ways left to show that kind of love, please let her. Someday, when your grandmother is gone, I hope you look back and realize just how much you meant to her.
I’m jealous of your lunch. Not the sandwich itself, but the love that comes with it.
(Of couse since I’m looking at cold rice for lunch today (and tomorrow, and the next day) your sandwich doesn’t look too bad either
