****I bet I’m the only person on this board who likes Fellow Travellers.
A roots-folk-reggae-blues band, they were yanks living in the UK and recording in Germany in the early 90s (only thirty frickin’ years ahead of their time!).
Fronted by Jeb Loy Nichols, who’s done some great solo stuff since, but rarely with the energy of that eclectic band. And they had DUBmeister Martin Harrison on bass (and as producer), who added a whole dub sensibility… including following a great tune with an extended dub of it, and a whole dub album.
Whoo! I will gladly, joyfully join you in the Corner Of Joss Whedon Loathing, MTCicero. I’m on my way over, I’m bringing the salt & vinegar potato chips.
Serving on a jury was near the top of my life’s to do list. Honestly, I was shocked and a bit hurt when I got seated to hear a really interesting case and no one cared. The only thing they wanted to know was why I wasn’t smart enough to get off jury duty.
I got my first jury duty notice this month and I am all sorts of excited about it! My boyfriend is jealous, but he’s not a Doper so I guess he doesn’t count.
I love horehound candy, although I do wish it was more like the candy in the Little House books, rather than being delicious brown cough drop style.
I bet I am the only poster on this board who likes Dschinghis Khan. I don’t just mean I saw the Moskau video and thought it was funny. I have all their songs I could find and listen to them regularly.
I served on a federal jury a few years ago. I was excited to get called and loved it. I’d gladly do it again and recommend it to everyone who gets summoned. It actually irritates me when people grump about it.
I’ve never met in person anyone else who likes them. They don’t sell them at gas stations around here- you’ve got to go to an actual grocery store! And we all know how horrible THAT is.
Judging from prior thead-experience, I’m probably the only one on this board who would totally (ahem) embrace the notion of a cuddle party, and would attend with no clandestine agenda.
Another salt and vinegar chips lover here. BBQ & Sour Cream and Onion were always the standard chips around here growing up, but salt & vinegar or its rarer cousin dill & vinegar would often make appearances, too, and were well-liked by folks who liked stronger, sharper flavors.
Anyhow, off the top of my head, I think I’m the only person on this board who unironically likes Freddy Got Fingered. It may have helped that when I first saw it, I had no knowledge whatsoever of Tom Greene’s schtick (hadn’t even heard of him), but I found it quite entertaining for its anarchic, absurdist, gross-out, over-the-top approach. I mean, I actually think there’s a certain genius in that movie.
I bet I’m the only person on this board who loves brussel sprouts with horseradish.
I bet I’m the only person on this board who loves ginger beer with coriander.
I bet I’m the only person on this board who makes chicken and vegetable terrine with quinoa and parsley juice flavoured polenta for their dog.
Hannibal, both the book and movie. No idea why. I read Silence of the Lambs first, liked it, but LOVED Hannibal. I know, I know. I’m fundamentally broken inside, right?
I bet I’m the only one on this board that likes ketchup on my carrots, mustard on doritos, and Julio’s brand chips in my ice cream. I know I’m not the only person that likes them, 2 out of 3 were suggested by a friend. But I bet there’s no one else on this board.
