Yes, they spell it like that in Britain.
Din-din was cooked outside. London broil, broccoli, & chocolate nana’s for dessert.
My tummy’s sassified (at least until it finds out there are also cookies!)
Wow. Dave’s nieces just made my day. They left me the sweetest note on my fb page. I love the HFUNs. They really are like family to me.
Ohhh. Pain…ow
Yay for the HFUNs, Sticky! Glad they brightened your day.
I swear I’ve read, but none of it is sticking.
Except that, yes, I like winning. The lottery would be good, of course. Words with friend (which I only play with 2 friends) is good, too. Having the last word is fun, too. Or isn’t that what you meant?
Hope Apelet decides to arrive on her own.
Hugs all.

Time to change that user name to carnivorousplant - apprentice…

Along the lines of “no good deed goes unpunished…”
I decided to install the entrance way hanging fixture we bought a ways back to surprise the wife when she comes home tomorrow. The old one was ghastly. This one is actually nice looking - brushed bronze; 5 light; reversible orientation on the lights. About as good as you can get these days, seeing as everything - and I mean everything - is made in China anymore.
Therein lies the problem.
The directions. Now to be fair, these weren’t as bad as some of the really cheap crap that have such useful instructions as “Circuit fuse at power. Disconnect.” or “Place nuts over tube. Fasten tightly.”
They did, however, list all the parts (there really weren’t many, maybe a dozen) differently in the parts list vs. the instructions, and called them out incorrectly. Now, I’m pretty handy generally, and can muddle through most of these things without incident, but I finally just set the booklet aside and set the damn thing up. Properly, it turns out.
Now I just have to decide if the wife wants the curly bulbs in there or not. Not sure.
And to bring things full circle, a giant white moth has settled on my curtains as I type this…
Oh, and best wishes April.
That there is one stubborn l’il baby.
So they want me to do a fleets enema before my induction on Wednesday. Anybody have any experience with this? It sounds gross. I had to give enemas when I was a nursing assistant in the hospital to people and let me tell you it was not pretty
Nah, how many posts were there, “Stay sticky, Apelet”? She listened! ![]()
The best $400 I ever spent was a vasectomy.
Nonetheless, I’ve had two step daughters who are wonderful.
But I digress.
TMI about childbirth follows.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) tells me that the medical people cut your anus less it split in childbirth.
I suspect, although I am an Instrumentation Engineer, not a medical person, that they don’t want any accidents that may cause difficulties for the baby.
I’ve never been responsible for anyone going through this, but I am sure it is worth it for you.
We MMPers are thinking of you, and you have our best wishes.
I am usually totally wrong about step daughters already on board, so I probably am incorrect about those children who have not yet reported for duty.
It’s actually a cut in the perineum. They tend not to do that anymore
Me, too.
Everybody folds every time I play. :(![]()
Apes, at least this gives you guilt trip material for later.
We didn’t tell her to stay there FOREVER, just a few more weeks! ![]()
Good evening everyone!!!
I have some bad news. My left foot is KILLING me. I have no idea why the exercise I’m doing is hurting it so much. But youch. I’m practically limping today when I walk. I took my insole out so maybe that was what was causing it.
Today I will embark on a journey of planting crops, raising animals, befriending the townsfolk, and eventually bribing a woman with enough gifts until she agrees to marry me!
Happy Tuesday everybody
April, in a few years we’ll all look back and be able to laugh about your pregnancy, right? No? Hmm
Well hope your day is good.
Few things beat a good night’s sleep, and last night I got one. I was dead to the world before 9, I woke at 1:30 to toddle to the bathroom, then woke again at 5:30, at which point I got up. A few more nights like that are in order, for certain.
It’s 61° and not at all humid - a perfect morning. That should make for a non-icky day working on the deck. Yay. My youngest sis - the tattooed bartender - is coming over today so FCD can take her to the place where he got his chaps. She wants red ones - that should be a sight!
{{{Sticky}}} - yay for HFUNs!
**Apes **- I can sympathize. My kid was late, started then stopped coming, and they had to induce. It wasn’t a lot of fun, but it did happen pretty quickly. Here’s hoping the Apelet will get her baby butt in gear pronto!
Happy Tuesday!
Blurf.
Can’t decide if I should spend the day doing plant-related stuff, or walk into town and risk spending money I don’t have. I do need to buy some things though. Hmmmmm…
Morning, all! I have been productive today, I have been scanning exam scripts to email to the second marker because it’s all got to be finished by midday tomorrow and they are starting to panic. It’s a nice little diversion, the guy who runs the reprographics room is a really lovely bloke, and he gave me a couple of toffees to make sure I didn’t collapse while I was scanning stuff.
I have put said toffees in my desk for later, it’s Fat Club tonight so I had better not eat them, lest I be out of my target range tonight which would be a Very Bad Thing.
Nuts, I was thinking about the tiny British spiders last night and was going to post a comment along the lines of “from little acorns…” thinking that eventually they’d grow up to be Big British Spiders. Then I thought since they’re only little, the acorns could be used to make armour for them. Yay! An armoured troop of pointy stick wielding mini spiders!
Sometimes I’m so clever, I even scare myself.
My internet went down Sunday because the lights blinked. Thanks Duke Power! So glad to see you back again! (There was also a blinking traffic light at the Major Intersection near me, so apparently Something Happened.) Haven’t read, don’t have time to skim.
I have had to toss out two starts on the recycled market bag. I figured out what I was doing wrong thirty minutes before bed last night. Crocheting is fun except when it isn’t.
I guess it’s off to irk.

I want this on a t-shirt! Wish I could draw…
And that got me thinking about a line of MMP-licensed T-shirts. So far I’ve come up with:[ul]
[li]BLURF![/li][li]rosie’s sig[/li][li]a mountain of TP rolls[/li][li]“I’m nice, dammit!”[/li][li]the recipe for Death Chicken[/li][/ul]
Surely there are more - I’m not fully functional yet, so I know I’m forgetting so potential designs. Maybe I should have saved this for another MMP… nah, too much like work.
