If they guy was a few feet away hurling insults I can deal with that and would ignore it, once they’re 4 inches away from my face that’s a different story. Which was the case here so at that point it’s no longer about pride when someone gets in your personal space being aggressive close enough to sucker punch you stick you with a knife, you don’t know if the guy is on drugs etc. If you don’t realize the difference then obviously you’ve never had any physical confrontations in your life. If that’s the case good for you.

Yeah. I haven’t been too clear in this thread (or maybe any thread, whatever), but I don’t think the OP is a monster for this. If you don’t want to get pushed out of this guy’s space, don’t get in his space. Just because it boils down to monkey politics doesn’t automatically make it stupid.
