I see your point, but as a long-time journalist, I have a serious beef about this kind of stenotyping being called “news.” If Fox were at all interested in real reporting, they would have dug into the story and found out whether one of their sources was lying. It’s called gatekeeping, and it’s supposed to be a primary mission of journalism. And yes, Fox passes itself off as a practitioner of journalism. So yes, Fox failed spectacularly (as it always does) in its pretense at journalism, though it no doubt succeeded just as brilliantly in its primary mission, which is to make Rupert Murdoch wealthier each day than he has ever been before.

According to YOUR links, it was Detective Wheeler who made those claims, not Bill O’Reilly. And nowhere in the transcript or video link provided by you, is Fox News or Bill O’Reilly shown as saying this is “the truth”.

As for O’Reilly like I said in my first post, I can’t stand him. As far as his take on sex, of any sort? imNSho, he’s a hypocrite who has no right to make any judgements or give advice regarding sex. It irritated the hell out of me when in one of his books he had a chapter on being sexually responsible that was aimed at teens, (or preteens).

Personally I don’t find that any news sources on TV do a fair job of reporting news, it’s all “he said/they said” regardless of which network does it. I find more news here, than tv news (via links from other dopers etc).
