Actually, Starving Artist, it’s been my experience that most of those of us who will let forth with this particular rant readily include ourselves. It’s not a high-horse thing, it’s a “man, we humans are all messed up” thing. And more days than not, I agree – even when I’m happy.
Anyone else remember the scene in Clerks where Randal says something along the lines of “It’s a good job except for the fuckin’ customers.” Something like that, it was when he was talking to Dante.

Perhaps you’re right. Thanks for the alternate perspective. I just don’t happen to share your view. I think far more good emanates from people than does bad. For example, as a percentage, how much of your life is spent being a jerk, vs. how much time is spent being a good, responsible, loving and considerate person? I would bet you’re a jerk less than 1% of the time. And I think the same is true of just about everyone. Therefore, in a big picture sense, I think much more that is good comes from people as a whole than does bad…by far!
