I could use your help identifying this Atari 800 game

The game involved your landing a spaceship on 9 or so planets. Care had to be taken with thrust so that you didn’t land too hard or use up too much fuel ala Lunar Lander.

Once upon the planet’s surface, you would solve some sort of puzzle. No instructions or hints were provided. One puzzle involved you getting past some sort of creature. You needed to attach a ballon to a cage, float the cage above the creature, and then pop the balloon with a gun (found earlier) so that the cage lands on the creature.

Once the puzzle is solved, you are able to go on to another planet were another puzzle awaits.

The puzzles were maddening, because as I mentioned there were no instructions/hints, but also the graphics were so bad, you couldn’t really tell what some objects were or what they were to be used for.

Biggest clue as to what this game might be: The US Navy tune, “Anchors Away!” played as your ship approached the planets’ surface, increasing in volume as you got nearer.

I loved this game. It was so maddingly frustrating yet addictive. I’d like to see if I can scare up a copy, but I need a title.

ANY help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot, all!

Hmmm, that doesn’t ring a bell, which kind of surprises me, since I was really into the Atari 800 back in the day. I was always reading through the computer game magazines looking for new ones to play, so even if I never played it, I was probably familiar with it. Was it a cartridge or disk (or cassette tape :))?

There’s no way I’m gonna figure this out just from trying to remember, it’s not familiar at all. At my parents’ home I have (or at least used to have) a big book of reviews of many of the Atari games available. I’ll be up there next weekend, so if we still don’t know by then, I’ll see if I can find the book (a moderately sized “if”); I may be able to find the game in there.

I managed to find the title at an emulation site.

“Journey to the Planets”

Thank you to anyone who may have spent time on this.
