I Decided To Start This Week's MMP

We arrived alive! Our little trek took just shy of 14 hours, thanks to an accident in NC at exit 65 which backed up traffic several miles. By the time we hit the site, it was all clear, but the damage had been done and we’d been forced to creep along I95 at a stoopit slow pace for far too long. Other than that, traffic wasn’t bad, and the only weather we encountered was some very light rain in SC. It was overcast for virtually the entire trip, so no problems with sun blinding us - yay!

FIL is doing well. He’ll have his other knee done in the summer, more or less. **FCD **plans to come down and help him out immediately afterwards. FIL refuses to go back to the rehab facility/nursing home. Apparently the nurses there were very disinclined to answer buzzers, even when FIL pulled the emergency cord in the bathroom! He also had issues with his roommate (he was supposed to have a private room) and meal delivery (being told “It doesn’t matter - the trays are all the same!”) Apparently no one had any dietary issues in the entire place… Anyway, he refuses to go back there, so he’ll come straight home from the hospital. He’ll have visits from nurses, and **FCD **will stick around till he’s literally on his feet again. But that’s months away.

There will be 10 of us for dinner tomorrow. Today, I’ll be working in the kitchen with MIL and **FCD **will take his dad to therapy. Then he’ll go over to the clubhouse to pick up the tables we’re borrowing for tomorrow. And who knows what else…

It’s nice and cool here - I even have the windows open, which is nice. Not sure if that’ll last all day, but we shall see.

So, Happy Firday!! Can I go home yet?? <sigh>

We were on the (light) rain/snow line as we were finishing our run last night…in the dark. Ideal conditions, right? Car tops are white this morning.

Apes, welcome back…& they’ll always be your babbehs.

I had an interview this morning but someone (not me) called out sick today. :frowning:

Firday!

blurf.

Today I got up early, drank a bunch of free coffee, ate an apple slice, was kissed by a radio show host (it’s a Montreal thing! ), bought two boxes of cookies, was given an additional free box of cookies by the aforementioned radio show host, and went to the bank. All this and it’s not even 10:30 yet!

BBBBRRRRRRRRR
Damn cold weather… grumble, grumble

I’ve been reading the Jian Gomeshi thread so that made me go :dubious: at first.

No no no! It wasn’t Jian Ghomeshi, I can assure you! It was a local radio show host. A totally not-creepy guy.

Howdy Y’all! Emergin’ from a pile of paperirk to breathe. It’s all good though cause it shall all go away in a couple of hours. [del]Minion[/del] Assistant and I have made good headway with the pile this mornin’. I’ve even set up appointments to bring some folks in next week. Go Me!

MOOOOOOM glad y’all made it safe. So, is the plan to get up from the table tomorrow, say it’s been real, and head back?

I came home from irk because I’m sick. Looks like I’ve caught that Thing That’s Going Around.

You’ve let me down, immune system. As usual.

Howdy all and happy FIRDAY!

I’ve been around, just lurking; you all know I don’t post very much anyway. I’ve been keeping up, though, and as always, I’m on Facebook, although I’m quiet there as well. Prayers and good thoughts being sent out to any and all who need them. Glad to hear that FCM and FCD made it safely to FL.

The weekend copy of USA Weekend has some really good sounding recipes for Thanksgiving sides! There’s a roasted brussel sprouts and butternut squash one (I know Swampy) won’t like that one, but they do taste really good roasted!) and there’s also one for sweet potatoes and honey crisp apples gratin that sounds very tasty. And a spoon bread recipe with cranberries in it. We might try out some of the recipes before the holiday to see if we might have them this year. Getting tired of the same old, same old I guess, and it’s time for a bit of a change up.

Spaz, sending you some hot tea with honey and lemon, and hope you’re feeling better soon. Everyone have a good day today!!

Happy birthday Apelets!

First day of new irk today- it seems pretty good, everyone’s nice, it should be easy enough once I get used to their system, and it’s right round the corner from the library, which is handy for lunch break.

I’m off oop North tomorrow, for another [del]big kitteh huggin’ session[/del] trustee meeting. Just braved town to get my ticket ready (I can’t get one at the tiny local station, and I’ll be tight for time tomorrow).

I debated driving, as it’s gonna be a slow train, with a bus replacement for part of the route, and it won’t arrive til about midnight, but as unappealing as that sounds, a 5 hour drive solo straight after irking the football sounds worse.

Tonight’s rehearsal was cancelled, so I’m off to the opera tonight, if all goes well.

Cool.
Which opera is it?

Howdy from da cave! I hereby declare it the weekend! :: Opens Yuengling :: Pizza has been ordered and will be picked up by OYKW. Teh intartoobz and da squeeze are makin’ dindin tonight.

{{{Spaz}}} we shall sing you soft kitty.

flytrap, obviously Midget is goin to see the greatest opera of all times!

Herbs beware combination casseroles and I’m not sayin’ this because it contains fart blossoms. A friend once made a sweet N.O.T./turnip casserole for Turkey Day because she thought it sounded good. It. Was. Not. Good. To say it was horrible would not do the abomination that turned out to be justice. This also reminds me of a broccoli and corn casserole I once made. I thought to myself, broccoli good, corn good, broccoli and corn double plus good especially with cheese. Nope. I had a dawg at the time that would eat anything and even Jake turned his nose up at that unogly concoction. I do not normally waste food but that went in the trash post haste. ICK! Some things just ain’t meant to be I reckon.

Thus endeth the cookin’ lesson.

Pizza has been ingested. YUM!

This Sunday I am Lector (not the cannibal kind) for the Luteruns at 9:00 A.M. Apparently I have poed some Luteruns as the following is the readin’ for the first lesson of which I have been assigned…

"1The Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, after Ehud died. 2So the LORD sold them into the hand of King Jabin of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth-ha-goiim. 3Then the Israelites cried out to the LORD for help; for he had nine hundred chariots of iron, and had oppressed the Israelites cruelly twenty years. 4At that time Deborah, a prophetess, wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel. 5She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim; and the Israelites came up to her for judgment. 6She sent and summoned Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “The LORD, the God of Israel, commands you, 'Go, take position at Mount Tabor, bringing ten thousand from the tribe of Naphtali and the tribe of Zebulun. 7I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin’s army, to meet you by the Wadi Kishon with his chariots and his troops; and I will give him into your hand.”

I may hurt myself pronouncin’ some of those names.

Dang! I done killded the MMP again!

Oh well, we shall now go lie upon the bed and watch teevee and ummm… stuff.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Sending virtual chicken soup to spaz!

Feeling a little better today (at least it doesn’t hurt as much to sit). Went to the other grocery sto’ for a couple of things, then tried to explain stuff to a new pharmacy tech. Yeesh! Talked to Dad tonight. It seems that he may have
sent the deed to his house with some other documents a few years ago, so I’ll be looking through the files for that tomorrow.

rosie’s sig to all.

That ain’t Wagner, dumb ass.
:dubious:

Jesus Christ, you guys read Torah?
