I didn't finish watching Mad Men past mid Season 4 but I'm kind of curious about how it turned out

I let it go and I’m not invested enough to binge watch but I was curious about the fates of some of the characters. So this thread is obviously just a huge spoiler fest so if you want to watch it fresh you should not be here.

Joan and Roger’s baby - what happened?

Did her doctor husband survive the war?

Did Betty ever get more mature?

What happened to Pete in the end. Did he succeed and move upward?

Gay creative director Salvator “Sal” Romano - did he find love?

Lastly Peggy - What was her fate?

Joan and Roger’s baby - what happened?
Joan raises him as a single mother. Roger provides support and brings gifts, etc but Joan makes the decision to keep his involvement at arm’s length. I believe Roger makes sure to write him into his will. Joan had become a junior partner in the firm and, after they are bought out by McCann-Erickson, gets a substantial payment – although she settles on part of it to leave M-E early as a result of harassment and being treated as a secretary again.

Did her doctor husband survive the war?
As far as we know. They divorce and he’s not heard from again.

Did Betty ever get more mature?
In the final season (or maybe just before), she learns she has lung cancer. She declines treatment, knowing that it is a death sentence and not wanting to hang on for a foregone conclusion. She largely reconciles with Don and Sally.

What happened to Pete in the end. Did he succeed and move upward?
The firm is bought out by McCann-Erickson but Pete is offered a job with Lear Jet in Wichita. He divorced from Trudy earlier as a result of his infidelities but finally has an epiphany that he needs to get his shit together if he doesn’t want to die alone and miserable. He convinces Trudy to reconcile and they leave for Nebraska in the final episode.

Gay creative director Salvator “Sal” Romano - did he find love?
After he is fired from SC, he isn’t heard from again.

Lastly Peggy - What was her fate?
She climbs the ranks in creative and, while going through some boyfriends, develops a friendship with Stan (also in creative; he was the guy who always gave her shit earlier on). After the buy-out, she moves into M-E with a take charge attitude and passes on an offer from Joan to start their own firm. She also starts a relationship with Stan in the final episode.

Thanks!

I’ll add my “thanks,” too! I stopped watching Mad Men somewhere early in the 5th season, and hadn’t realized I was interested in how things turned out until I saw the OP.
