I didn't know they were still alive!

That was the best laugh I’ve had in hours.

I actually have that extention. The updated version shows a little picture of Abe in the lower left hand corner of the browser. Right clicking on it brings up a menu for his IMDB, Wikipedia, or NNDB page. I rest well, knowing that I have the most up-to-date Abe info.

A member of another board where I post has known Charles Lane for 40 years. Says he’s a nice guy, the opposite of the curmudgeon he used to play on TV and in the movies.

Obvious Jeffrey Jones joke: He’s alive. It’s his career that’s dead.

Van Johnson is still hanging in there. Good for him.

Ah, but did you have the version of the extension that gave you Terri Schiavo’s status?

I just found this one out today…

Apparently Engelbert Humperdinck just died. He was in a car in LA…

Humperdinck! Humperdinck! Humperdinck!

[Sorry couldn’t resist the Princess Bride ref]

Dead or Alive still has him around and kicking…

Dammit, I fell for it again! As soon as I read your post mistakenly claiming Gerald Ford dead, I thought, “What?? He really is, and I missed it??” I totally believed it. :smack:

I think I need to get one of those Abe Vigoda monitor thingies and reprogram it to keep track of Gerald Ford.

I just found out June Foray’s still around. Among other roles, she’s been the voice of Looney Tunes’ “Granny” since 1943.

Someone’s not a fan of Eddie Izzard. But I got it, Suburban Plankton.

Last night on some nightly news there was a story about a Southern school that wanted to do the musical of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” only the students were mostly black and ditto with a nearby school whose students were mostly white. One woman who worked at the first school happened to run into a woman who worked at the second school and mention the problem to her. The two schools got together and did the show.

Harper Lee showed up for the performance. She is 80 years old and almost never goes out. I’m sure most people think she died years ago.

A group that as a whole I tend to think of having passed before their time are retired professional athletes, if they haven’t done anything to keep themselves in the limelight (like get into broadcasting, for example).

I was sure I’d seen Biography host, Harry Smith introduce a biography of his late predecessor Peter Graves a couple of years ago. Imagine my surprise at seeing Graves in one of those “we brought in a celebrity” Geico commercials.

Dash it all, that’s what I came here to say! My husband and I were both surprised when we saw that commerical because we were sure he’d died.

Harper gave her father’s watch to Gregory Peck. Also, Gregory Peck’s granchild is named Harper.

Some of you might like to know that Deanna Durbin is still alive.

I thought Martin Landau was dead after X-files the movie until he popped up in the tv series “The Evidence”.

Checking his wiki page, he was married for longer than I thought too

That is so cool! Outlived many (all?) of his co-stars.

I was surprised to see that Dr. Martin Marty is scheduled to speak at my alma mater tomorrow. I figured the theologian had long since gained first-hand knowledge of whether the hereafter exists, but he’s only 78 years old.

I just watched the latest ep of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and was surprised to see Eli Wallach as a guest star. According to IMDb, he will be 91 in December.

This may only be a surprise to me, because he’s been working pretty regularly, but I was impressed.

And since I’m posting anyway, I thought I’d mention one that’s not exactly current, but that occurred to me when I read the OP.

I grew up (in the 1960s) a big fan of Laurel and Hardy and the Little Rascals. Sometime in the late 1980s I was absolutely stunned to learn that director and studio head Hal Roach was still alive. He died in 1992, just a couple months shy of his 101st birthday!
