i don't call you fat, don't call me skinny!

Just in case anyone hasn’t figured it out yet, fat people say insulting things about skinny people for three reasons.

  1. Envy.

  2. Envy.

and drumroll . . .

  1. Envy.

Envy isn’t a very attractive emotion. Expressing it in public is not polite or acceptible. The root cause, our society’s unhealthy obsession with weight, is an ugly thing. But contained in each assinine coment is this: I wish I was like you. They would be deleriously happy if anyone told them they were too skinny.

Small consolation, I know. But rest assured that when people helpfully suggest that I should exercise more, they’re are not motivated by similar admiration of my body.

I have a friend who’s a tad heavier than me. Anytime I complain about my body, she says, “Shut up, you skinny bitch.” I take it as a compliment.

That may be true for gals, Podkayne, but we uber-ectomorph guys get a fair share of grief from the aerodynamically challeneged.
