It’s a just starting to get light 63 degrees outside. Supposed to be a partially cloudy day with a high of 82.
I’m going to try to get some yard irk in today, make some deviled eggs, and finish the laundry I started yesterday. We should mow today or tomorrow since rain is predicted Toosday thru Firday.
I also need to get on to finishing the dreaded T word, taxes, since they are due in two weeks.
Since the weather is nice I’ll probably spend a good bit of time just sitting outside with the brats and give both of them a good brushing. The cat loves to be brushed, the dog not so much.
I agree Doggio, adulting is not much fun.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 92 and mostly N.O.S. with a slight chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. I slept good last night, pulled an all nighter even, yet somehow I felt a whole year older when I woke up. 
The plan of the day is to deheathenate, I have ush duty, followed by N.O.L. at the local good seafood place. I see fried shrimpies in my future! This shall be followed by an afternoon of chill.
CupCakes I’ve never met a cake I didn’t like. However, if’n I had to choose, I’d say a white layer cake with chawklit fudgy icin’ is about my favorite.
Thanks for the bday wishes y’all! Makes a grumpy ol’ geezer feel good.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Heatwave decidedly ended, it’s been really wet 'n windy all night. Fine by me, meant I could sleep!
Accordingly, today will mainly involve slobbing, with a side helping of defilthifying the place. I was gonna go get some shopping in, but irk didn’t pay yesterday. Dunno why, but they’re apparently paying the last day of the month, rather’n the last Friday of the month like previous. Just messing up my budgeting a bit.
I think they may have a few annoyed irkers, especially as everyone did a long shift Friday, then an extra long shift yesterday, due to their biggest single booking of the year. Normally we’re all done before 3pm, often before 2, but yesterday the last person left at 6:30… The crazy busyness might be the cause of the delay (they don’t have many staff and they were all pretty flustered), but I wish they’d said before I’d gone to check, rather than waiting for people to go 
at them.

I woke early from an annoying dream, then spent a couple of hours playing stupid games on the tablet. **FCD **also woke early because he got an idea for a design he’s been working on. I spent a couple of hours on the computer, and he just now went back to bed. I loaded the dishwasher and made myself a breakfast of PB& peach J on toast.
We have to leave around 11:30 to get to the theater. Other than that, no real plans. **FCD **wanted to mow, but since he’s abed, I don’t think it’ll happen. I should push the mower along the ditch, but… well… dunno.

emily, knowing what was going on in your life, I figured that you would be otherwise occupied for a few days. I’m glad that you’re taking this well, but don’t forget, should the situation begin to get the better of you, we’re here.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and getting ready to do KP. The guy who will fix my carpet should be here about lunchtime so I want to get some chores done before then. After KP, I’ll do the salad for tonight’s supper (supper will be poke chops with onions and apples, sweet corn, cucumber and onion salad, sliced 'maters and watermelon for dessert). I should be able to get the stuff set up for the week’s breakfasts and lunches before he gets here. Sometime this afternoon, I’ll take Nelson to teh dog park for a romp with his puppy peeps.
Last night, I combed my hair, looked in the mirror, and realize I’d gotten a really awful haircut. So this morning, despite his misgivings, I got **FCD **to fix it. I wet it, combed it so that he could give me the line that I wanted, and he trimmed around my face, my ears, and along the back. It’s so much better! I now feel presentable.
He decided against mowage this morning. We’ll be leaving in a little over an hour, so we’ll just kill time till then. We may or may not mow when we get home.

Cupcakes - Costco, of all places, makes an amazing chocolate sheet cake with mousse in between the layers that is my favorite. It is so huge that there is never a reason to have it. Second place would be a chocolate cake with whipped cream frosting. I love those.
Another day of 100 predicted. Boooo!
Currently, I have one little dog in lap, and one big dog on floor. This works out, since I will shortly have to get more coffee. It’s much easier to obtain without so many cats.

Howdy all! I have not read but I do know today is Swampy’s Day. Happy Birthday Bear.
All I do anymore is irk. I will be so glad when it slows down, probably mid August. I am irking every Saturday so take Sunday and Moanday off instead. I really should be there on Moanday but I need my two in a row off.
Off to read and see what y’all have been up to.

This weekend is the ‘Old-Fashioned Festival’ in our little town. Yesterday there was a parade in the morning and** Wifey**'s office had a float in it.
Well, TPTB decided that the people on the floats couldn’t throw candy to the crowds anymore.
Anyway, as the parade was getting started, some ‘adults’ decided to throw candy at the floats instead, and a little girl riding on one of the floats ducked and fell off the float she was riding and got run over. (By the float I assume.) A friend of ours was driving the tractor pulling the next float in line and she stopped right away and didn’t run her over. Anyway, it was right in front of the fire department and she was treated and life-flighted to the hospital straight away. She’s gonna be alright, I’m told, but it was still a stupid and tragic event. :mad::mad::mad:
In a little bit we’re gonna go over to the festival and listen to The Newberg Community Band and then eat crappy carnival food. There will be elephant ears however!

I thought I posted but I dont see it so I probably forgot to hit the post button.
The back jungle got whacked, and we did some trimming. The front postage stamp didn’t need anything done.
Ripple stole my shoes multiple times and tore off through the yard with them, but he always brings them back, so I can put them on again, so he can take them off again.
Now he is stealing bottles out of the recycling bin and bringing them to me for a little cheese. With a little work maybe I can teach him to pick up his toys and put them away.
He got a little brushing, but I didn’t get a chance to get to the cat.
I have to find a new feeding station for the cat. Normally he eats on a cart by the back door but I bought a shoe cabinet to put there. The Fat Ass Cat can’t jump to the top of the cabinet as well as I wanted to move the cart because it was a short hop from there to the table. Every time I clear the table my son loads it back up again to keep the cat off of it. I moved the cart to the other side of the kitchen but it doesn’t really fit. I’ll figure something out.
I cleaned out the cabinet under the kitchen sink, but I never did make deviled eggs or do laundry.
The cat doesn’t get on the table anyway, and knock things off?

Howdy Y’all! Thanks for the bday wishes! We deheathenated, had N.O.L. (good fried shrimpies!), and achieved nappage. A nice tstorm just came through and it’s still rainin’ out. Nice! Cooled things down outside.
No, one thing I can say about him is he doesn’t knock things over or off the tables.
However, he rubs up against everything and gets hair everywhere.
He really is a nice cat and pretty well behaved, except for his damn claws when he wants attention.
I’ll catch up this coming week. We got home to a message on our answering machine; the short version is a close friends daughter was in a house fire with her son Thursday. She was declared dead this morning and as I type this she will be getting prepped for organ donation. Smoke inhalation causing a heart attack and oxygen deprivation. We rushed back out and I did get to have a last visit. I will say what I have said at other times like this ----- I don’t ever want to have to do this again. In my adult life she was the first person I knew from before they were born and the first to become a Grandma.
Sometimes this adulthood thing just sucks.
Her parents and siblings and all of us are hurting and the pain is going to last forever. With luck it will just ease some.

Bumba, I hope that the little girl gets better; stupid things happen, and it’s just tragic that it happened somewhere that was supposed to be a happy time.
FCM, I figured you kept FCD around for a reason…glad the haircut meets with your approval.
Well, the good news is that I did get outside for a little while. The bad news is that I ended up at Logan’s Roadhouse and over-indulged on meatloaf and dinner rolls, so now I’m feeling pretty full. Managed to get the mini-fridge setup and hopefully can transfer food there when the builders show up and start removing the appliances.
One the good side, I got all three Sudoku’s in the paper today without having to ‘peek’ at the solutions for a couple clues, so either the puzzles were easy or my brain is working (place your bets).
Giving my brudder a call here in about an hour and see if he’s in a conversational mood.

We had a nice time at the theater - some really outstanding performances and a few mediocre ones, but all in all, a nice afternoon. And as a bonus, when we came home, we learned that our daughter had mowed for us - all but the ditch. She’s a good one - I guess we’ll keep her!
**FCD **is working - again. He figured out a way to simplify a design he’s been working on, and he’s got a meeting tomorrow, so he wants to get ready for that. I’ll be crawling into bed soon, since I have to work bright and early. rah.
