Thanks everyone. One bright note is that once everyone knew that there was no hope, everything possible was done to meet her wishes. She always was a firm believer in donation so basically the last two days were doing everything possible to make as much of that happen as possible. Since her wish was also cremation even the hair was saved to become a wig for someone who will need it. I don’t know if I could have stood as strong as they did in the face of all this but these are tough and caring folks. And I am proud to have shared so much the past 40 years with them all.
Her two older girls are pretty much grown and on their own. Some of the concern now is for the son. He is not even a teen yet and has autism and was injured as well by all the smoke. Not on this level but the next few months really are going to be a struggle.
