Maybe they got the hint that you’re intolerant of phony intolerances.
**Midget **- we’ve been to a variety of semi-pro dinner theater performances - some were outstanding. There was one theater in Jacksonville, tho, that frequently disappointed. The owner would cast himself or his wife in lead roles where neither was very good. I guess if you have your own theater, you can pull crap like that, but after a couple of less than satisfying shows, we quit going. I seem to recall we saw *1776 *at this theater in Fredericksburg (ages ago) and it was pretty good. Here’s hoping they’ve kept up the quality.
OK, back to work… you guys need to quit distracting me!

Broken fast by eating some Lean Cuisine Fettuchini Alfredo (hey, I’m trying to clear out my refrigerator, so no comments!) and solved the 4-star Sudoku (still have the 5-star one to go). Have Purple Heart coming around Tuesday to pick up some stuff (4 boxes worth) that I don’t need anymore.
Juliet, the farm stop sounds like a great idea. Hope it all goes very well for all of you.
Cupcakes, elated to know there is another RoF fan here! Been trying to get people interested in it ever since I picked up 1632 years ago. About half my collection is paperback and I don’t have the latest Russian book or Virginia DeMarce’s works (I find her boring; YMMV) but hoping for another England book (this one with Harry Lefferts and Baldur Nordhal) and hints of something happening to the Spanish treasure fleet makes me think that Eddie Cantrell will be making another appearance soon. Just so many stories…
For those of you wondering what the heck we’re talking about, the 1632 or Ring of Fire series is about a small West Virginia town that gets caught in a timey-wimey SF thing and goes back to Central Germany of June 1631. Includes not only the townsfolk, but real-life characters such as Richelieu, Cromwell, Gustavus Aldophus and many more. You can read the first book free right here (don’t have to download, can read from your computer. (1632 by Eric Flint - WebScription Ebook
Metal Mouse/CupCakes I read the series through the first several books, but have lost touch lately. Something about kids, not enough time, yada, yada.
I’m back to packing, and the world is still too hot. Boo…
No nap today even though I didn’t get enough sleep.
I sat outside with the critters for a long time today. It’s hot out but I was in the shade, and it kept Ripple busy.
I got an order in from the jungle today and I don’t know what I was thinking. I ordered two boxes of trash bags, Considering there are 90 bags in a box and we use one bag a week, that is a lot of trash bags.
I’m felling lazy again today and I have so much to do.
Howdy Y’all! I erranded this mornin’. ‘Tis cloudy out (lookin’ like it could storm) so I decided to stay inside and be productive. I accomplished nappage.
**sari **- they’re not just trash bags - they’re emergency raincoats, too!
I think there are only 2 or 3 of us left in this hallway. I may leave early, too. Just because.
Here comes the thunder boomer, if I had to go outside I would need one.
The power went out earlier today and came back on, now the tv is out. It’s dark and gloomy, I should take a nap.
I left an hour early, thinking I’d stop and get a haircut. Both “no appointment needed” places had at least an hour wait. I don’t need a haircut that badly. Then I drove home thru a toad soaker with big boomers and flashies! I thought it was supposed to be a sunny day - I was wrong.
Oh well… at least the work week is over.
Are they large enough for body parts? :dubious:
Well, things are looking a lot more normal here; it’s cloudy and drizzling. Stormy weather is forecast and a decent amount of rain. I ain’t sorry. Neither the people nor the landscape and wildlife is prepared for over a month of hot 'n dry here.
My annoying thing for the day is getting the first bit of my schedule for classes next year. Last year was Mon-Thurs, and they said it’d be down to 3 days for this, dropping either the Mon or Thurs. They haven’t, they’ve reduced the days, but changed it to Weds-Fri. I irk Fridays, as does at least one other person on the course (we irk at the same place). Both me and co-irker asked last year if it was going to be an issue and been assured that nope, they wouldn’t be scheduling exams or anything on Fridays…
I might be able to switch to irking Saturdays, but they don’t need as many Saturday staff, so it’s quite possible I won’t. They don’t need staff any other days.
My irk friend currently works both, has been there for years, and can’t really afford to lose a day a week, so it’s really gonna be a problem for her.
Need answer fast?
For parts? Most definately.
Need a saw? I have one of those too. ![]()
Nappage achieved.
Rain is over, sun is back out.
TV is back, internet is back.
Worked, came home, beer and tacos. Another double tomorrow.
Wet one, it must be a day for smelly pets. Nelson just about gassed me out on the way to the dog park.
baker, I just replaced the light bulb in my fridge too. I also had to replace one of the bulbs in teh bathroom and the one on the range hood. The hall light needs to be replaced too, but I cant reach it from my step stool, so when my friend comes over to hang the new blinds, I’ll have him do it while he has teh ladder out. It’s an LED one and is supposed to last 13 years.
I actually irked late today, came home, took Nelson to teh park, grabbed a burger from Fat Mo’s, came home, showered, dressed and went to the funeral home. After a nice visit with Brent and his wife, I headed home and swung through the grocery store. Now it’s kick back time with a sleepy pupper on my lap.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and waaaaaay foggy with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. when the fog lifts. As usual, there’s a chance of a stray tstorm. I’m told folks should be arrivin’ around noonish for quality cee-mint pond time/general shenanigains. Munchies shall be provided along with adult beerverages and a non-adult alternative. We shall sup upon grilled chikin sallit, which is one of my favorite Summer sups. Cheesecake shall also be consumed. Tomorrow after deheathenization we shall use my bday coupon for the local good seafood place.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify and drag floats and such out of the place they live when not at the cee-mint pond.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Happy Saturday!
It’s a N.O.S. 73 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 84.
No rain predicted until Moonday, so a nice weekend.
I hope your birthday weekend stays nice for you Swampy!
I got a pretty decent night’s sleep, and have had a fairly productive morning. Still have lots to do, it seems like there is always something to do around here.
It’d go a lot faster if I didn’t have a puppy and cat demanding that I sit outside with them all day.
I’ve been up and about for quite a while. We’ve breakfasted and I’ve been partially shorn at Hair Cuttery, and the first load is in the washer. Sun is shining, so I plan to hang laundry outside. I need to pull my sewing machine out and do some mending. Other than that, not a lot going on.
Happy Saturday!!!
Oh, this is gonna be a long day.
Phone rang at 0345, with the offspring informing me that he had left his keys in a friends car, and could I let him in?
Of course he was 35 miles south of here. I must think up some payback.
The good news is my mothers correct death certificate finally arrived. Hopefully whoever they co-mingled her with won’t have too many problems, since they are not dead yet…
