I don't like coffee or beer

That’s right. I grew up, went all the way through college, and never developed a taste for either. I hate the smell, and the taste.

I like tea, especially with lots of sugar. I like hard cider a lot. Woodpecker, Woodchuck, Ace pear cider. All great

But I hate coffee and beer.

As I’ve remarked on this Board many a time, I don’t like coffee or beer either. Neither does Pepper Mill. But we both agree that coffee in places like Starbucks smells great. We just can’t stand the taste.

I only like a little bit of coffee with my cream and sugar. That’s pretty much the only way I’ll drink it too, if it tastes like actual coffee then I won’t touch the stuff.

As for beer, that stuff is just icky.

My SO cannot stand the smell, nor the taste of coffee. It’s taken me two long years to get her to let me have the stuff in the house.

I will eventually make her see the light.

As for beer, I cannot blame you not liking that stuff, most of it is pretty terrible.

To be honest I don’t really know if I like the taste of coffee myself. I know I don’t much like the taste of beer. It’s a matter of having grown accustomed to it. I’ve been drinking coffee since I was little (Heck… you go camping with my family the only thing you drink is coffee brewed on the fire overnight/all day or water) and beer… well the friends I hang out with it’s a lot cheaper for all of us if we pool money/take turns buying pitchers.

Thinking on it though… Coffee I kinda do like the taste as long as the bitter edge is taken off by some sugar (milk isn’t nescessary, just a nice bonus). And beer, I still don’t like the taste but there are some I can stand more than others.

I am just the opposite. I am pretty much hooked on coffee. If there is none in the morning I get nervous. I can drink it anytime of the day or night and don’t pollute it with cream or sugar. Beer is just my favorite beverage and I could easily drink to much for my own good.

Same here - got through college many years ago without either. I got drunk on beer once in college, because there was nothing else to drink, puked my guts out later, and haven’t had one since. I’ve tried a lot of different types of beer (sips from a friends glass) to see if I’m missing something, and I’ve concluded that I’m not.

I’ve never had a plain cup of coffee. Once in a while (maybe 10 times total) I will have a cappuchino with lots of sweetener, or a coffee drink with lots of mocha, but it’s more the appeal of having something warm or icey to drink than having coffee.

The next coffee drink I have will probably be at Cafe DuMonde in New Orleans, because I have to have something to go with the beignets. Last time I was there, I had hot chocolate, but may try coffee this time.

I only drink coffee when I go out for breakfast with family or friends, usually on Sunday mornings. At work I don’t drink coffee. I drink Coke instead. As for beer, I’ve never had any desire to drink it or any other alcohlic beverage, not for religious reasons, but I simply have never wanted to try it.

I’ve gotten used to the smell of coffee (I prefer the smell of Mr. S’s Steep ‘N’ Brew to my dad’s scorched Folgers), but still can’t stand the taste. Same for beer. I’ve had maybe five sips of beer in my life, and two of coffee. I will say that on Mr. S’s lips, I prefer coffee to beer.

I don’t drink tea either. My friends are always forgetting that those were Torani steamers they saw me guzzling at the coffeehouse, and so they offer me coffee/tea at their houses and are shocked when I decline.

I am yet another coffee and beer hater. I am fairly quirky in general though.

Well, just let the grown-ups have their beverages and we’ll wake you up before we go home.

Any questions?

Hear, hear!!

I’m another guy who doesn’t like the taste of coffee (tho the smell is pretty good) and can’t stand beer. Mostly American beers (insert joke about the farmer, the diabetic horse and the urine sample HERE).

I prefer tea and have developed a taste for many of the non-hoppy bears, especially some pale ales. It’s the hops that I don’t like. I have some friends who brew their own and their stuff tastes pretty good. I think Zima tastes great!

Calm down, folks!!! Your opinions have been weighed and judged.
Re-education squads are on the way to you abodes. Remain calm, and quiet, as that is your nature, due to your lack of alcohol and caffeine

Everything will be OK!!!

There are others like me out there?! Damn!! And I almost had people convince me that I was a freak!!

I’ve had maybe a few sips each of coffee and tea in my entire life, and I can’t fathom why anyone would want to drink either of them!! Some coffees smell absolutely fabulous though - Brazilian and Italian varieties come to mind. Now if only someone could put that great nutty smell into my hot chocolate!!

I don’t particularly like the taste of beer either. Dunno why I drink it really!! I don’t think I’ve ever had a beer because I’ve felt like having one - its always been with a group of friends.

I love scotch whisky though.

Amen.

I like beer too, though. A lot. Coffee I can take or leave.

I don’t like the taste or smell of coffee despite having spent many years in a house full of the stuff. Ditto for beer. (I’m the family mutant.)

I do love tea though. I also occasionally drink wine or hard cider but do not care for the hard liquors generally. Also, I can’t stand the taste of bourbon which pretty much makes me an outcast in Ky. Well, that and I can’t stand basketball either.

Actually I dont like beer …somethting like zima or flavored hooch yes

I cant stand plain coffee now one of those carmel triple chocolate with whipped cream things yes … as long as it dosent taste like coffee

Yet another - I’ve tried regular coffee, cappucino, and espresso. The only form of coffee I like is Kahlua and cream - does that count? I do like Darjeeling tea, and I like Bigelowe’s Lemon Lift also. I’ll even take ordinary pekoe tea with sweetener.

As for beer, I got my fill at a class party when I was still a young 'un in the Navy. I didn’t like the taste, and I definitely didn’t like the way it made my classmates act. I’m not anti-alcohol, but I don’t understand the concept of drinking just to get drunk, whether it’s beer, wine, of distilled spirits.

My usual beverage of choice - water.

Coffee? No.

Beer? No.

But it do have a taste for tea and rum. Hardly ever at the same time though.
