what’s to understand?
I go with MrVisible and Mekhazzio on this one. People fall in love with other people all the time regardless of gender. I think I love my female friends in the same way as I love my boyfriends in the past. However, with my female friends I do not have the urge to hump them or to fondle them at inappropriate times. The emotional part is still there though.
However, when you decide to spend somewhat longer with a person (i.e. getting a relationship) you develop a stronger bond because of that ‘exclusiveness’ that you don’t have with other friends.
I think it really is the physical factor that you are attracted to that makes the only difference. For example, not too long ago I met a wonderful girl. She had all the characteristics of the person that I would want to spend my life with and actually thought for a while that I wasn’t really 100% gay. We shared interests and everything. However, on sexual level we were completely incompatible. I just couldn’t ‘get it done’. Were she a guy though, I’m absolutely positive that we would have been together still…
