They are, in a sort of roundabout way. If you go to the high scores page and hit the “next 10” button, the URL it gives you will look something like this:

See the part that says “min=20536”? Just change that number to wherever you want the listing to start. Right now, the character ranked 5000th is level 54.
Oh, and I’m at level 37, #20517. Lost some ground yesterday when another program made my computer hang. It corrupted my save game file, but fortunately I had made a backup. I lost about 4 or 5 hours of progress, but at least I was able to recover my character. Let this be a wakeup call to everyone: back up your save game file!
I don’t know if you know this, but you can start a game online, then continue playing while offline. I’m leaving my game running 24/7 too, but I’ve got a dial-up connection and it’s not practical to stay online 24/7. I just hit Ctrl-B to update my ranking whenever I get back online.
Oh, and I also believe the rankings only go by level. I’ve noticed that when I’m offline, the only time the game tries to go online itself is when you level up.
Also, I forgot to mention my character is Jet Jaguar, Battle-Finch Hunter Strangler.

I am quite proud of my Holy Batpole level IV spell and I think The Eye of the Troglodyte spell is pretty nifty if you can pull it off but I don’t think I’m ever going to get used to all those Porn Elementals.
what? but porn elementals are the best part! especially Demon Porn Elementals! why, it’s a strange japanese fetish AND freudian at the same time!
My god, it’s hypnotic watching those bars crawl across the screen. And the goodies you accumulate. And the monsters you kill–it’s so effortless.
I’m going back to watch it some more.

Sorry but this game does nothing for me at all.
It’s not supposed to. It’s a joke, a parody, a satire of MMORPGs and the kinds of bhaviors that MMORPG addicts exhibit. The message boards at www.Progressquest.com are a scream, replete with discussions of the economics of ProgressQuest (how does the shopkeeper maintain the market…? There are 60,000+ adventurers, each haulling mountains of obscure booty back to the shop, yet he always seems to have cash on hand, and just the nifty studded plasma whateveryouneed), flaming of newbies, “long-standing” fueds, and tips-n-hints.
It’s a hoot!

Currently, I’m up to level 49, Act VII. Ranked 12087 in the standings.
I now believe the standings are determined by level and which Act you are working on. I’ve seen the program try to go online when you advance to the next act, as well as level up.
Ah, is the HoF finally back. Good to see it. Downtime gave WLight the chance to develop Eye of the Troglodyte LI and get to 800 Constitution.

This is pc is slow. I started the char LAST WEEK.
Anyone else notice that XP is really nickel-and-dime stuff? None of the beasts seems to give more than 12 XP, and that’s in the lower levels. No wonder is takes so blasted long to lvl.
