I f***king hate posters that

post

continuations of the same thought that

other posters started as if

they’d thought of it at the

same time and who ever (in a

million years), who ever thought they

'd come up with the “nickname” Simul-

post for such ?!%?&!!! behavior?

?

I fucking hate posters that use asterisks to take up letters in the word “fuck”… especially when they put one asterisk too many.

I also fucking hate posters who start a fucking moronic thread for the sheer purpose of being fucking moronic.

I’m sure that our server, in between it’s struggle to stay alive with the huge traffic load going through here, thanks you profusely for giving it an ulcer.

Shut the fuck up. All of you.

I hate posters that include their sig in every post, even if they post three times in the first six posts of a thread. Especially, if they are also posting replies under another user name, which is including its sig every time.

Now that that’s off my shoulders, what the fuck was the point of this?

Oh, and a simulpost is when two people post the same thing at virtually the same time.

I fucking hate identical IP numbers.

I hate identical IP numbers, too. Care to explain this, choosybeggar and Posterchild?

So… do we have two people using the same (school, work, etc.) computer, and conspiring in a dumb post for the Pit? Or do we have one person trying to stir up trouble?

Same person here? And neither can spell properly?

PosterChild and I know each other IRL. We were hanging out, talking. We got a silly but harmless idea. It’s 1AM EST; traffic is low on the SDMB server.

We write an odd little thing about simulposting, switching off on the lines, seemingly continuing each others thoughts. We thought at worst this would be received as bad cyberperformance art (however, since neither of us has formal training in the Arts, we should have considered the distinct possibility things could get far worse). We wrote the thread by alternately posting from IE and Netscape, with each program logged into one of our SDMB accounts.

Same IP address, yes. Same poster, no.

The answer is A.

Never even used the word “properly.”

But seriously, you found spelling errors?
Intentionally bad grammar (whoever=who ever-helps the reader to read it as though it was spoken: WHO[sub]ever[/sub] instead of whoEVER), but spelling errors?

Hmmm…

If that’s the case, I would suggest that MPSIMS would have been a better forum for this… just my 2 cents…

But I will, provisionally, accept your explanation…

In comes Captain Anal Retentive Man, to point out the various errors made in this thread.

  1. A poster is a human and as such takes “who”, not “that”.

  2. "same time and who ever (in a "
    a) “time, and”. Not “time and”
    b) whoever, not who ever.

  3. “who ever . . . , who ever”. Um, no. Omit the second “who ever”.

  4. Ah, fuck it. Your post could read as such: “I fucking hate posters who post continuations of the same thought that other posters started. As if they’d thought of it at the same time! Whoever in a million years thought they’d come up with the nickname “simulpost” for such [insert vulgarity/ies here] behavior?”

Now, granted there are other ways to say this. For example, one could use the past perfect tense for “started” instead of the past tense, and the first use of “that” could be omitted entirely. And there’s a bit of needless repetition in “posters . . . post”, so that could be changed. However, nobody here cares enough for me to get into a more thorough job of this, beside the fact that I am only doing this as a favor to choosybeggar and PosterChild. Next time, though . . . get your own anal English major:)
