I feel like I swallowed a wool sweater.

Head: Plugged
Eyes: Watery
Nose: Drippy
Ears: Full
Throat: Scratchy

Me go home, eat soup, go beddy bye now. Summer colds suck.
This message brought to you in part by Pity Party Caterers, where our motto is: “You want some cheese with that whine?”

Stuffy dose eh?

Hope you feel better!

I swear by Thera-Flu myself but YMMV.

I feel like shiznat, World Eater.

That teaches you to skip out on a pig roast. This is karmic retribution. KARMA.

Or, well, just shoddy luck. I swear by NyQuil and DayQuil, heavy doses of each.

…even when I’m not sick…

Feel better soon.

Sorry you’re feeling under the weather, Canthearya, but that just cracked me up. [sub]Then again, I’m pretty easily amused. ;)[/sub]

Hope you feel less like shiznat soon.

The symptoms started on Sunday morning, after a night of beer drinking and cigarette smoke. A post-nasal drip kinda soreness in the back of my throat. I thought the pain was from the previous evening’s shenanigans so I took a couple of Tylenol and vegged…

The real problems began Monday (see OP) and got worse overnight. I went to bed at 7:00 PM and woke up at my normal time with a splitting headache and the feeling that someone had injected caulk into my ears, nose and sinuses. I was up long enough to leave a voice mail for my boss… 12.5 hours of sleep that night. I woke up yesterday to eat breakfast, sneeze 300 times and take the dog out, then went back to bed for 4 hours. After all that sleep, you’d think I’d have a hard time getting to bed last night. No problem. 9 hours of uninterrupted slumber.

Today the pluggedness has waned a bit, the sneezing has abated and the tiredness has lessened…

But I still feel like whining.

Thanks for the well wishes y’all. Hurtin’ for certain ain’t fun and truly sucks if ya don’t have someone to whine to.

Whine away. We’re here for you! I hope you feel better soon.

Not to be confused with SHIZNIT, which is good.

How ya feeling today?

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I’ve enjoyed mine. Same exact symptoms - mine started 10 days ago and is still hanging on (today, for instance, I have completely lost my voice but still had to give a 45 minutes presentation - I contemplated using sock puppets). Like you, I’ve sneezed more in the past 10 days than I have in my entire life. Yesterday I sneezed 15 times in 5 minutes. The summer cold/sinus infection/bad air quality scum is running rampant in Central Virginia.

Not feeling too well today… It’s moved into my upper chest. Got that rough voice thing going on. My husband loves the husky voice thing, so maybe I’ll get some tonight.

You have my sympathy, plnnr.

2.5 hours to go… then I can go home and pass out.

Ah yes, the raspy voice. I tell everyone that I’m Barry White and Kathleen Turner’s love child.

Was it possible that you fell asleep at the base of a cliff in France ?

That might explain the wool.

Very strange, NurseCarmen.

Okay, I may have been bored at home yesterday but at least I could sleep whenever I wanted to. I’m dying here!

The headache has returned, throat is beginning to hurt, head feels warm and I have that I-know-I’m-not-dreaming-but-this-doesn’t-feel-quite-real thing going on.

Anybody have a shotgun they can e-mail me?

Cancel the shotgun.

I want my Mommy.

Anyone have a mommy to e-mail me?

I can’t explain it, but your above post just makes me giggle!

I guess I’m envisioning you curled up fetal on the couch, with a very worried look on your face. Then, in a quiet, feeble voice you ask “Mommy?”

Hoo hoo! I’m dyin’!!!

Not that I’m mocking your sickness. That would be wrong.

At any rate, I hope you get back to normal soon.

Thank you for your support and sympathy, scout1222.

The saddest part of this whole thing is that I haven’t been able to run. The weather was actually COOL earlier this week and I missed it!

I’m supposed to run a 5K tomorrow morning… I’ll probably do it because – even though I’m sick – I will almost certainly improve my PR. I’ve heard it is the fastest 5K in the U.S. - all downhill.

Is “almost certainly” a correct phrase?
