I feel smart. (Definitely Mundane and Pointless)

Sometimes I do little insignificant things that just make me feel like an absolute genius.

Today, I went out shopping for garbage bags. While I’m at the grocery store, I notice a display of paper towels, which we’re all out of, so I grab some of the super cheap kind and continue searching for the garbage bags. At this point, I make the observation that paper towels have absolutely no place to grab on to, so I’m definitely going to need a bag if I want to carry it all the way back to my apartment. (Did I mention I don’t have a car?) So I finally find the garbage bags, and of course I get the super-cheap kind. I go up to the cashier and he says he doesn’t have any bags big enough to fit the paper towels. Oh well. I pay for everything, then proceed to take out one of the garbage bags so I can put the paper towels inside. “Where’d you get that bag?” “I just bought it!”

So little and insignificant, but somehow I still feel like a genius for being able to put 2 and 2 together like that.

I also bought some Chinese food at the mini-mall adjacent to the grocery store. Unfortunately, the process of walking home and trying to carry three bags at once caused the little box of Chinese food to get tossed around a little, and some of the sticky sauce spilled over onto the outside of the box. Good thing I had paper towels!

One of the things I love about my mum is some of the questions she asks. They give me so much room for sarcastic creativity. Such as…
“Is this on now?”

Huh?

It’s an example of how I sometimes feel smart. (This is how it is relevant to the OP)
