For some years, I’ve been in a search for a sweater. A very specific sweater: it needed to be striped, blue and red. It mustn’t be too thick or too thin and it must have shoulder buttoning. One or two or these factors I could deal with, but it was the combination that made the search hard.
I found it today, however! No help from internet, it showed up old school-style: on a mannequin in a store. I bought it soon after I saw it, and here it is:

Several years ago, my mother had this pair of earrings that she loved. However, she wanted a pair in red. We looked everywhere, and couldn’t find them. One family vacation, several years after she had declared her desire for the earrings, my brother and I were bored and looking at the jewelry cases in a gift shop. And there they were. The earrings. But it turned out, her tastes had changed and she didn’t want them any more…

Wish I’d known you were looking for a sweater like that. My grandma gave me one which looks extremely similar, which I’ve never worn, because I don’t like it.
