Starting Monday, I will be learning to do tech support on computers. This is my first full-time job since 2009. In between, I have been at school, been on welfare, and been doing part-time work. I can now work on building up savings and paying people back (you know who you are). I can also continue with polishing and extending my skills, and look for more advanced work.

The job market in Canada is definitely on the upswing. I have actually seen signs on the road here in Ottawa saying “Cisco: Now Hiring” and all of the fast food joints are looking for help.
My son (15) just got a job at Sobey’s (grocer) and my daughter (17) just got a job at Wendy’s.
Things haven’t been this good in about 7 years.
