Topiramate has also been shown to lower ghrelin levels (as well as having other beneficial effects). Ghrelin is, I believe, the only hormone known to stimulate appetite.

The idea that other people should censor themselves to avoid causing any possible distress to any person, while popular in some circles and with some people on this board (who thrive on White Knighting these situations), is neither viable nor realistic. Nor is it compatible with free thought and expression.
The correct response in these sitations is not;
“Your post made me…”
But rather
“I read this and felt this” (and therefore I need to…)
She’s recovering from anorexia. I don’t think she needs medication that will take away her appetite. I could be wrong, though.
As you know from your having quoted Zoe, the topic was already broached and I had something to add that may have been useful to others reading this thread.
Offering therapeutic advice and recommending prescriptions is beyond the scope of an ATMB thread; feel free to take up these issues either in the original thread or in a new thread in IMHO dedicated to the pros and cons of various medications – recognizing that there is no guarantee that anonymous posters on a message board may or may not be reliable sources of information.
