I got my elephant today!

Miscellaneous and Personal Stuff I Must Share

Well, not today, but a few days ago. Its just that today sounds more exciting and all.
So let me tell you!

My elephanter, Hereisarch, sent me an e-mail notifying me of its impending arrival. He send: expect two packages and open the long one first.

well, the cubey shaped one arrived first. so it sat there, waiting for its mate. The mate however, was late.

a few days later the mate arrived. the fun was now to begin!

let me tell you of the wonderful stuff I got!

the long box contained a note explaining all my treasures. It even had a lovely picture of a baboon on it, in my honor! how cool is that I ask you? VERY cool indeed!
Some of the neat stuff I got includes:

glittery paper to print on with an ink jet printer! oh the possibilities with this! My button empire shall obtain new heights now!

I got two pairs of snazzy chopsticks made out of some neat wood.

I got a orange bear drinking some soft drink. The niece loved this and is now hers.

I got a lovely box! I think I shall place my fountain pens in it. A nice box indeed.

I got a korean phrase book. The next time I see my friends mom, I can tell her her Bolgowgi is most excellent in korean now!

I got a buncha postcards.
I got a flier for some theme park

I got a tray liner for some Korean fast food place. MMMMM. it looked tasty. no, not really. not all of it any way!

I was sent MONEY! (be envious one and all). I think all told its worth about 1 dollar, but wont my pals be impressed when I whip out 1,000 Wons? oh yes indeed!

I was sent a video game, even. I will have to see how badly I can play that. I never get past the first level of any game, it seems.

I was sent MOVIES. Short cuts and Women on the verge… but, alas I have them both. Wont my next elephantee be surprised!

I was sent FOOD!
let me tell you about the food:

I got sushi Nori. This is great cause I love to make sushi!

I got MARSHMELLOW PEEPS all the way from Korea. and a SOLID chocolate dove bunny. SOLID. not cheap and hollow! wow!

I got some Korean crackers which are tasty.

I got some completely unidentifiable fish product. I think its supposed to be a snack of sorts, judging by the cutesy fish characters on the front. Frankly, it scares me. I think this will go to one of two places: my Japanese friend can have them or if not, then the dogs (who go BONKERS at the smell of these things) can have them. after, of course I have a nibble.

I also got Cadbury eggs. a whole dozen of them!

OOOOOOOOH!
and before i forget:

I got a Camo Compact!

that’s right! Say I am out to dinner, and I see someone I am tryimng to avoid… I can whip out this compact and instantly camofloge myself. Instantly.

and I got a bunch of glow sticks too! Why do I have the feeling that I can make a big big mess with these? :slight_smile:

After your looong wait on the couch, I’m glad the elephant made you happy.

Gee, I only said you should open the long one first 'cause it had the note. I separated the boxes because I thought customs might delay (or confiscate) a package with foodstuff in it. Never thought it would arrive first.

NOTICE: Not all Korean crackers are tasty. Well, not all people find all the crackers tasty anyway. But it’s a cultural experience. [sub]Yea, that’s the ticket![/sub]

Re: messy glowsticks - I never thought about opening them up. But now that i think about it, they’d make some fun body paint. (I’d make sure they’re non-toxic first.)

Elephant? What elephant? Is there an elephant in the room? Great, now I can’t stop thinking about it!

Not just an elephant Ann With a Sheep On Top, (or is it Ann With Ice Cream On Her Sheep?) but a White Elephant. There were about 105 of the bugger zipping and zinging all over the globe.

When the next three (from all I heard) meet their new owners, this round (3 and 3a) is over. But fret not! A new and even better White Elephant Exchange is on it’s way! (With me in charge? No.)

Just wanted to let one SDMB’er, who is still on the couch know, that Rue contacted some of us about sending out auxiliary Elephants so one of you will get your package soon.

Rue has worked hard on this. We should give Rue some really good cr…, uh, stuff to compensate!

The Lord of the Elephant has blessed me greatly in the past few days.

When I got to work this morning, sitting on my chair was a package from my Auxiliary Elephant Rue. Then, just about 5 minutes ago, I was blessed with a SECOND package, presumably from my original Elephanter, GrizzRich.

So now I have 2 packages to open & inventory! What fun shall be had tonight! Wow, it was worth waiting for.

I’ll post back tonight or tomorrow with the contents…

Grizz, Scout-ster getting two packagederms doesn’t reflect on you. It’s a fortuitous (for her) result of my (in)famous “No Badgering” policy.

A policy that served me well as Head Elephant Wrangler. (I should have thought of it sooner.)

I got mine in the mail as well. Mine came from Baker and had the following:

a cat ornimate, I think I might have one of these but that’s ok since two cats are better than one.

a number of little angels that sit on plates etc for X-mas. One had a missing head that really freaked me out, then I found the head.

A small x-mas plate

some perfume, so now I smell great! :slight_smile:

a sea shell

some tea, of which was supposed to be used by 2000, but it was a cold day yesterday so I drank it anyway.

There was also a shot glass from a coffee house

a pin that looks like Ringo Starr

a pendant from Italy

and finally a book called Neanderthal.

Since I’ve been moving stuff around I’ve already got my next WE ready to ship pretty much. Boy have I got some intersting cr… uh, stuff.
