My fiancee and I went to the local mall to buy our wedding bands today. The store’s computers were having problems, so we sat there a bit longer than we expected and ended up looking through their catalog. I saw this watch in the catalog and decided to see if they had it in stock.
They did, so I tried it on. At first, Kate said no. I was fine with that, since she just bought me my motorcycle last month. Then, when we went to pay, there was another slow-down with the computer. While we were waiting, she changed her mind, and told the salesperson to ring up the watch as well!
I know this isn’t a super fancy watch like some of our aficionados have and wear, but it sure is an upgrade over the clock on my cell phone! It feels weird to wear it, though; I haven’t had a watch in about four years, and that was a relatively cheap Fossil.
Seikos are built like a tank, built to last, enjoy your Chrono, just try to avoid the “Need More Watches” syndrome, it’s highly contagious, I suffered from it for a while, but thankfully, the Orange Monster cured me, I have not purchased another watch since, and that was well over a year ago
As a fellow sufferer of this affliction I will warn you as well. I haven’t bought since November when I got a Movado I’ve worn nearly every day since. I have close to 40 watches now. It’s a tough habit to break.
That Seiko should last you a long long time. It’s a very nice looking watch. Congratulations!
I was actually impressed with the Lucien Piccard I bought about three years ago. Since I wear it every day, it needs a cleaning about right now, but its movements have run very well and has held up against scratches better than I thought it would. For an every day watch, I wouldn’t object to getting another one.
