FCM, Scruffy is so cute! Kawaaaaaaii!
Off to brave to cold and go shopping. Look for my frozen corpse in downtown Chicago if you hear from me before tomorrow.

Scruffy is either very grateful or is plotting her Texas Chainsaw Massacre revenge.
Ok, instead of baked N.O.T. we’re having my famous microwaved sliced N.O.T. with onions. It’s simple. Slice up some N.O.T. and some onion. Dot 'em with butter. Sprinkle on some Worcestershire sauce (soy sauce will do in a pinch) and a little salt and pepper. Cover with plastic wrap and zap fifteen to twenty minutes depending on your microwave. Always nummy and quick. Serve with a healthy dollop of sour cream. This is a made up recipe.
In a bit, I’ll light the grill and let it get hot. The N.O.T. (just does not get old!) will nuke whilst steaks are grillin’. Then the bread will be all toasted up in the oven while the steaks rest.
Tonight I will also bake the casserole for tomorrow. That way all I have to do is nuke it to warm it up in the morning and put it in my handy dandy Corning ware tote thingy to keep all warm.
Nerve tonic is also about to ensue.
Is everybody out partyin’? Supper was good. My tummy is full. It’s cold here. That is all.
Cold here, getting colder - single digits on Monday, they say.
I’ve done 2 loads of laundry, and the third is in the dryer - that’ll be all for tonight. No partying, no whooping it up - just TV and surfing. A typical wild night at FairyChat Estates.
Windchill down to -20 tonight. I’m already in my jammies (the polar fleece ones-I’m no dummy!). Hafta work tomorrow (and that ride in, in thin cotton scrubs is not gonna be fun…).
I did some homework-yay me. I even made dinner (where did that ambition come from?).
Enjoy tomorrow, all MMPers.
And GO BEARS!
Yep, I’ve been out partying wildly. My friend had a kind of white elephant party. She invited a bunch of us over to bring stuff that we didn’t want any more. We did rounds of different tables and found stuff we liked. It was fun to go shopping without spending anything. About 1/2 the stuff went home (maybe more); the rest is going to Amvets.
We had snacks and wandered around admiring stuff.
Now I’m watching yet another episode of Remington Steele.
Then I’m going to crawl into bed.
Hope everyone’s having a nice Saturday night!
GT
I’ve been alternately watching TV/knitting this evening. At my desk. Now I"m off to crawl in bed and add petting the cat to the list.
Night-night, all!
The game tonight wasn’t nearly as exciting as the one last night, but we got another win. 3-2 over Jacksonville. Tonight was the annual Teddy Bear Toss and I had a whole bunch of stuffed animals to throw. Then, since I sit ice level, I get to throw the ones from the upper levels that don’t quite make it.
I was the Booster Club rep to present Player of the Game tonight, and it was Connor! He had managed to slip by the BC president and get to the locker room, so he already had his skates off by the time someone went to fetch him. He got his award standing on the ice in his socks. My little piggy toes were curling in sympathy.
I also found out tonght that the Snakes are honoring the Booster Club on Sunday the 18th - the Ex. Board officers get to do the opening puck drop. I’m excited - and I’ll get another picture for my hockey wall.
Hope I sleep better tonight than I did last night - I was so wired after the game I didn’t get to sleep until after 6am. I have to go feed SIL’s doggies in the morning so I need some sleep!
Hi! I’m home. Work went, glad I am home. I am off tomorrow, so I am going to a Superbowl party(I’m so disapointed ). It’s 36 Amurikin here.
FCM, this is pampered.
Go Colts!
Back, and thawing out slowly. Friend and I went to most bizzare party every and experienced a bunch of drunk rowdy Lutherans who all fell in love with Friend’s Scottish accent and tried to impress her in a drunk and clumsy way. Much amusement ensued.
I may actually watch the Superbowl tomorrow. Go Bears!
Rowdy, drunk, Luterans? Bobbio may have to weigh in on this one.
I’m up and caffienating. Soon I will purty up and get my casserole all warmed up and in its carrier thingy. I also have to get somebody up to get all purtied up. That ain’t easy sometimes. Last I heard from the bedroom it sounded like the night shift at the sawmill.
So, this is Stupor Bowl Sunday is it? Woo and Hoo.
Later Y’all!
i’m and and caffenating, getting ready for church. I hope everbody has a good Super Bowl Sunday.
Off to work, now. It’s COLD out there…<whimpers>
Somebody called? In my experience, the only way you find Lutherans rowdy is to get them likkered up.
I’m up to get churchified, and I need to spend the day avoiding the pregame run-up hype.
Afternoon everyone! It’s lovely and sunny over here, about 5 UK degrees outside so it’s really very mild. I know, you’re just jealous…
rosie - no offence taken, I’m not from Yorkshire and I know they have strange ways with ferrets up there. Not as bad as Lancashire though, that’s where they all have flat caps and whippets and appear to live on nothing but pies.
I confess, I’ve been out partying again. Yesterday we went to a wedding so we were there early to blow up balloons (I had a tough time stopping 'im indoors messing about with the helium!) for table decorations. The wedding was in the local registry office which is very small so that was limited to family - both of my friends have quite large families so there wasn’t really space to invite all their friends as well.
The reception afterwards was held in a local hotel and they’d invited just over 100 extra guests to that bit, with another 100 being invited for the evening party. It was a very busy day, and I was quite glad we’d decided to stay over at the hotel for the night because we were there from 11am and didn’t get to bed until about 3am the following morning.
In the lull between the afternoon and evening celebrations, there was a couple of hours of pig-racing which was very funny. I left 'im indoors there and sneaked off for a lazy soak in the bath before the evening partying got going.
Altogether a very good day. The happy couple are heading off to London today and are flying off from Heathrow on Monday for their honeymoon in Thailand.
I’m not doing much else today - got shopping and ironing to do, and I suppose I could consider a bit of studying, but I don’t want to overdo it…
Hee! I just noticed sump’n. The shirt I am wearing is dark blue with tasteful muted orange stripes. I’m dressed in da Bears colors! I figure that’ll make MBG, Rigs, Haze and any of you other Sillynoiseians proud.
Sounds like a fun wedding, BooFae.
There are rowdy Lutherans? Clearly, the Lutherans I’ve known were never sufficiently likkered up.
I have to say Go Bears as my brother was a Sillynoisean for about 10 years.
Queen Maggie holds herself like Queen Elizabeth, doggio. It’s a little bit frightening.
Despite my better judgment, I’m up, caffeinating, oatmealed and ready to attack stuff. I made great strides in finally taking down Christmas yesterday and would like to finish up today. Really wanted to finish before introducing more stuff into the house (my winnings from the White Elephant party). But I think I’ll have to bring stuff into the house before I set out for church.
I’m hoping that some of the MMP energy (I’m looking at you, FCM) has rubbed off on me so that I can get lots done.
Happy Sunday everyone!
GT
Very cold here, too. I’m waiting for my hair to dry and I’m about to make tea.
Lutherans can be very rowdy. Mennonites, too. Well, some of them.
The music last night was good, and there was a remarkable work-and-people-associated-with-work turnout. AT and QD and I went, and another co-worker had come with six friends, and there was a couple who are regular customers and very fun people to chat with. It was a tiny cafe, and there were over thirty people. Very fun night, and great music.
Yawn.
I’m not dressing up for church. It’s too fricking cold.
We approve.
Am supposed to go over to a friend’s for breakfast but… it’s COLD. wraps self in blankets and refuses to come out
Morning, all. It’s cold here, too, but not as cold as it’s gonna be in a couple of days. Brr! We’re not supposed to get above freezing all week. Which I realize for some of you is positively a tropical heat wave, but around here the weather people are practically peeing themselves, they’re so excited about the Frigid! Weather! The dogs, of course, are in doggy heaven; they ADORE cold. Oh boy, let’s go outside and freeze! Stupid dogs.
Me, I’m just gonna stay indoors and stay warm.
I notice that everyone is offering specialized competition for the Super Bowl. Animal Planet, of course, has the classic Puppy Bowl (with Kitten Halftime Show!), BBC America is competing with a marathon of Footballers Wives, ESPN is aiming for the female crowd with lots and lots of figure skating, and just about everyone else is running some kind of marathon. I’m really not a football fan, but I’ll probably watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials. And if I accidentally forget myself and put in a cheer or three for Da Bears, it’s all your fault, Sillynoiseans! But what the heck, my folks lived in a northwest suburb for about ten years, so I guess I should be on your side.
But I still don’t understand the helmets on stone lions.
Rusty, the world’s dumbest golden retriever, came up with a new way to play this morning. Papa Tigs has his desk in the living room, and I guess the cold makes him puppylike because he would go from a standing start in the hallway, leap across the living room and onto the couch in two bounds, and then do an about-face and in one bound try and land in Papa Tigs’ lap. He did it three times in a row! Since Rusty weighs 75 pounds, Papa Tigs was not sure what was going to break first, the couch or his chair, but thus far all is still standing. Stupid dog!
Maggie looks positively radiant in her lovely ensemble, doggio!
Papa Tigs grew up with a bunch of Scandinavian Lut’rans. I’ll have to ask him about wild parties. From what I’ve heard about his home town, I’m sure he can raise my hair a time or three. I’ll pass along any good ones, natch.
Off to caffeinate some more.
