I got the new anniversary Dr Pepper made with real sugar

I don’t like it

but I didn’t like the first Pepsi Throwback I had either, but I learned to love it
maybe it is an acquired taste too

I thought it was interesting, but I’m not throwing over my diet DP for it.

They had free samples at the store the other day, and it tasted slightly different, but I’d be hard-pressed to say if it’s better or worse. Then again, it’s probably easier to judge with more than a two-ounce serving, too.

In any event, I wouldn’t turn down either of them.

Unless they come up with a new ad, and this ad involves either Scott Baio or David Naughton dancing, who cares

The throwback Mountain Dew was pretty awesome, I thought. I wish I could find it somewhere.

Sugar and fructose must be the cheapest ingredient they can use so they love to sell it. And sugar may be more addicting too. But the bottom line is those are empty calories that deprive your body of needed nutrients. You can get away with it while young, but eventually it can cause problems. That’s about 10 teaspoons of sugar in a small container, but many people drink the stuff all day long.

Think about this too. Drinking only one extra sugar pop per day at 10 tsp. of sugar would add over 15# to your body weight in a year.
(10X15X365/3500=15.64)

Um, yeah.

I’ve been trying to find this stuff but I can’t find it anywhere.

thanks for the lecture on sugar, mom

Can someone do the work for me and define “sugar” as in "what ‘sugar’ did they put in this? Cane sugar?

the bottle says “real sugar”

only a cynic would want to know more

Other than reading the fine print, how do you identify it? My local store has Dr Pepper packaged with the old-style graphics, but the ingredients list HFCS.

It says it pretty obviously on the can, I think. I’ve tried some of it and I didn’t like it. I’m afraid of change!

The throwback Mt. Dew has resurfaced around here the last week or two. I’ve had a bunch. I really can’t tell the difference, except that maybe the throwback seems to slide down the throat a little more smoothly.

It’s not really an anniversary thing, except maybe in the distribution.

The trick is to look for “Dublin” Dr. Pepper- for whatever reason, the bottling plant in Dublin, TX still produces real cane sugar Dr. Pepper.

the bottle says “Anniversary Packaging 125 Years” on it

Sure, but that’s just the packaging. It’s not particularly special, at least around here.

Simple solution: Get rid of those 150-170 calories somewhere else. Can’t be hard to do.

A word of advice for you, you can probably improve your heart health by cutting down on the caffeine that you obviously get too much of.

I too have found Mt. Dew and Pepsi throwback popping up again

Throwback Mountain Dew and Pepsi they have at the Meijer’s in Bolingbrook. As for throwback Dr. Pepper, I know they have it somewhere in that general area, too, as my brother bought some the other day, but I’ll have to ask him in the morning where he got it.

The label says “made with real sugar” and the ingredients list says “sugar.” So, yeah, vague.
