Oh, and the best place to look at baby names is The Baby Name Wizard’s NameVoyager. It doesn’t just give you names and frequencies; it shows you graphically how the popularity of a group of names beginning with the same letters has waxed and waned over the decades.
For instance, if you type in ‘Ann’, you get to see how often Ann, Anne, Anna, Annie, Annette, and even Annabelle have been used over the years, all in one graph. Type in ‘Kait’ and you get the same for Kaitlin, Kaitlyn, and Kaitlynn. So you can see at one look how much use a name and a bunch of its variants have been getting.
Wow, congrats to you both! This is BIG news. You two are a couple of the first Dopers I ever met (Bill so resplendent in his kilt). Now you’re going to be parents. Twice.

Well, I know Bill will be a big help (seriously; I’m a very lucky gal), and I know my mom and sister, and Bill’s parents and two sisters who have kids are going to want to come visit after they’re born, so they’ll all get put to work. (I’ve already discussed it with Bill, and not everyone is going to be allowed to visit at the same time. No way, too much stress.) After that, we’ll see.
Two, which I’m assured is good, though they still could be either identical or fraternal and we won’t know that for a while. I’m happy either way as long as they both make it.

first - a giant congratulations!!! twins are great. my chinette’s are 4 months old tomorrow.
i hope you have help. seriously. we’ve got a night nanny, 24/7 live in, afternoon/dinner maid, one grandmother close to full time, mom is at home – and it’s still a lot of work. (thank god the one quality of life trade off that works in my favor is cheap domestic help).
seriously twins are exponentially more work than a single. you really enjoy those times when single handedly deal to inconsolably howling and hungry twins with dirty bottles and nothing prepared. the two hours it will take to get them content will feel like 100 years.
be extremely prudent when you get closer to the delivery date. having twins is very high risk, especially over 35. i certainly don’t want to make you nervous, but my youngest twin had a rough birth.
