Well, since I found the celebrities thread interesting, I’ll tell you why. I didn’t know half those people didn’t like each other, so I enjoyed reading about the back-story. I agree that posts in that thread that just listed the celebs with no explanation were kinda useless, but the other posts that explain how the friction started, etc, were interesting to me. And anything that Eve posts represents information I never knew and is therefore worth reading.
Since I am the dillweed who OPed the thread, let me make some comments.

The fact that it got more than a few posts means that some people here thought something of the thread - maybe not my OP - but some subsequent things in the thread by other people which are of interest. When I wrote it, I really didn’t think more than 10 people would give a shit.

No one forces one to read a thread. For instance, I won’t open any threads about smegma.

I didn’t think it was a list thread. To me the “list threads” are the ones like “Week 6, Van Halen Songs…etc.” Sure some people just put up a couple of names, but a lot of fairly interesting things were posted there…maybe nothing of real importance in the greater scheme of the universe, but I think this board would be a little stale if we only had threads of deep intellectual significance.

I don’t know what’s worse about Hi Opal–that it’s beaten to death, or that 99% of the time it’s used incorrectly (the last item of a 3-item list: correct. item 3 in a long list: incorrect).
