I hate Subway!

Streaming is fine, but it doesn’t have everything. I use both. If you only watch the latest blockbusters, a couple of streaming services is probably fine.

Agreed, I still own some DVDs.

As soon as you walk in a place with your phone or watch, they’re tracking you.

Your information is everywhere.
Try not to pass under any redlights…theyre doing it too.

A restaurant Application is for your convenience…do you think McDonalds really cares what you order? Or who.you text? Or what online site you look at?

Just put safety restrictions on your device.
It’s ok.
It’s fine.

Heck, I own some VCR tapes and a couple players.
Kids love those old grainy Disney movies…and we’ve got loads of them.

I remember when Subway used to cut a trench out of the TOP of the loaf before cutting the loaf lengthwise as everyone does now. Oddly it tasted the same, but less stuff would fall out.

I realize that they are tracking me all the time. I have security on my devices and don’t feel that’s really an issue.

I just hate downloading aps for everything and clogging up my phone. It’s getting out of hand. I don’t want an ap for every freaking place I have to shop at.

Plus I have significant difficulty navigating websites on my phone due to visual issues. I just want to walk in and order and be done with it. If I can’t do that I go elsewhere. Or wait until I get home or to a grocery store.

Ok.
But the apps are super easy.

No one says you have to get them all.
I have 2. Taco bell and Sonic. I go to these places 2 or 3 times a week. I’ve saved hundreds.

Its really worth it if you use these things. Plus you can easily uninstall them after you leave. 2 seconds tops.

Yup…

I’m glad it works for you. I rarely eat out at any of these places unless I am traveling anyways so maybe 10 times a year give or take.

I have so many devices to keep track of that it helps to keep things simple. Work phone/personal phone, 4 tablets, 2 desktops and a laptop.

We have a local convenience store by my workplace so if I feel the need to eat lunch (that is also a rarity) I just go there. Driving 15 minutes takes away from the time I have for lunch.

I think I have been to the Subway in town once in the last five years. I have gone to the Arbys maybe 3 or 4 times this year.

I live in a very rural area and the few places places that are available are at least 20 minutes away from my home.

Like I said if it’s working for you - enjoy. I know people who use them as well.

Yep. I live rurally as well.

And am all deviced up.

I hate them all. But its nearly 2025.

I doubt I’ll live to see it, but there will come a time when its the only way to do business, anywhere.

Maybe by a brain implant.

I try to make my experiences on a phone or laptop as easy as possible. I’d rather find an app, as another vision impaired person than typing a bunch of junk. Menus are easier to see on the screen in my lap than 10 ft away on a drive thru screen in the sunlight.

I know someone, as a matter of principal will not download grocery coupons. Just cannot bring them selves to save reall $$.
Out of a stubborn grasp on the “way it used to be”.

It’s never gonna be that way again. The genie is out of the bottle.
She aint about to go back in.

Oh I realize that and I have been using an building computers since the late 1980s.

I have enough money that I don’t have to worry about certain things these days.

I would rather pay for convenience than be bothered. Simple as that.

Ok.

Waste not, want not.

Haha! Great minds think alike.

May I ask what 1a) this means, and 2b) what it might have to do with Subway sammiches?

You know they take pictures at redlights of license plates?

We were discussing app. usage.

The poster said they didnt like giving their info on an app. for a sandwich.

Which is perfectly fine. We all gotta choose our limits.

Just explaining that we’re being tracked every step we take. Every where we go. I was comparing the two things as passive information.

It has to do with our lives. A sammich, a door dash order, a called in prescription, any time you tap to pay, shop online. You’re being tracked.

I know a couple of people like that - except they also think it’s unfair that the supermarket no longer sends out circulars with coupons to clip. They were complaining long before apps were a thing , as far back as the “loyalty cards” that started in the 90s.

As this is probably a hijack, I inadvertently started, I’ll say only one more thing.
Newspapers and print circulars are out of style.
Not how most people are getting sale or special deals anymore. I’m sorry. Its the future we’re in.
And they said it would be so great!

Then why do I get them every week in the Tuesday junk mail delivery? Maybe you should tell them.

Because they still have hope. I guess.

The only sale circular I get in the mail, is for a store that’s long gone from this area. Explain that.

Who is “they”, and where are they hiding their cameras? And where are these cameras that get perfect shots with all the other cars around?
