I have a 4.0 GPA!

The semester is over, the finals are done, and the grades are in – I checked mine tonight, and I earned a 4.0 GPA! W00t! Very exciting. My last semester (which was over a year ago, way back in 2003) I had a 3.8 so this is a step up. Agent Foxtrot also did excellently, with A’s in all his classes.

Well, congrats! Don’t be surprised if you receive a letter from the president of the university.

Instead of gloating, I really think now is the time to think about those that don’t have such nice grades during this holiday season.

Congratulations! You’re smart and pretty. Soon you’ll have more degrees than a thermometer!

Awesome, congrats!

(I also got all As, but it’s at a pretty easy school; I’m happier about being able to transfer to a different school than I am about the transcript)

And just thow would this heartfelt prayer for the academic slackers and “under achievers” go?

Congrats!

Congratulations to the both of you.

I never had a 4.0 myself, but I never really put any effort into classes either, so I wasn’t too disappointed.

Well done on your excellent results Mississippienne.

How do GPAs work in the USA? Do you get a new one at the end of each semester relating only to that semester? Here our GPAs are cumulative i.e. they’re based on all of the results you’ve achieved throughout your degree. It wouldn’t be possible to go from a 3.8 up to 4.0

Congratulations, Mississippienne!

Robin, who just graduated ahem summa cum laude

Congratulations, Mississippienne!

I had a few 4.0 semesters, but an A- always seemed to screw it up the rest of the time. Damn those pesky minuses! (My uni weights pluses and minuses.)

Robin

Congrats  I wish I was where you are.

Woohoo! Congratulations Mississippienne! Enjoy your victory!

It’s the same here, Mississippienne is probably talking about the GPA for just this semester.

Congratulations, Mississippienne!

I hate you.

No, not really. Congratulations, Mississippienne.

looks forlornly at own grades

A final report for a term will usually show two GPA’s, one for the term and one cumulative. Clearly, Mississippienne’s 4.0 references this past term only.

Oh yeah: Big Congrats! I jus’ knew you’d make us all proud when you left out for the flatlands.

We don’t have GPAs here, but I think mine would be closer to a 2 than a 4.

Congratulations :3

Way to go! Congrats, too.

Congratulations!

We don’t have GPAs here either (at least we didn’t when I was in school), so how do they work? Is a 4.0 “perfect”?
