Okay so it isn’t exactly a date. He’s coming over to watch classic horror films and pig out on beef jerky (and my apt. is a wreck! Eek!).

In case anyone has noticed my posting and is curious what happened to the boyfriend I had… well, I don’t have one anymore. Realistically that relationship ended 8 months ago, but we let it limp along 'til about a month ago. We’d both been unhappy for close to a year and it was time to face facts and let it go. While I can say I’ve been over the romantic loss for a long time (I knew it was over in August, but didn’t have the nerve to do anything about it), I do miss having him as my friend.

At any rate, my social life went down the crapper while we were together, and since breaking up I’ve decided to get out more and meet new people. Not necessarily looking for a boyfriend, but friends to spend time with. One such fellow is a geeky young man that I’ve really clicked with. Both of us are quiet and introverted, but the conversations have flowed comfortably.

Neither of us wants to rush into anything, which is nice. We’re adopting the “we’ll see what happens” outlook. So I’ve invited him to come over this Thursday to watch movies, and he’s invited me out to go bowling sometime :smiley: Whether things progress or we just stay friends, it seems we compliment each other nicely; some shared interests, but he’s more ambitious and high-strung, and I’m more easy-going and relaxed, so maybe we can help balance each other out some.

Now if I can just finish cleaning my apartment without the on-call pager going off, I’ll be set!

ETA: I wasn’t going to share, but hey I might as well. I also recently (Saturday night) had a first date with a new guy. It went well. I am on the scent.

Relax, I’m not offended at all. I’m partially just trying to convince myself to slow down and not be so easy. Maybe get to know the guy a little before dragging him to bed :stuck_out_tongue:
