I Have A Fever A Cowbell MMP

Busy busy again. We did breakfast, then came home, hauled the laundry downstairs, and I started a load of jeans. **FCD **bought a dust collector yesterday for his shop and he was trying to decide where to put it, which resulted in some rearrangement of my studio and one of his storage spaces. After we moved all that stuff around and I swapped out the laundry loads, we went to Lowe’s for the stuff he needed to finish the installation of the dust collector system. We got back a bit ago, and it looks as if the rain has finally stopped.

He’s doing whatever he needs to do in the shop and I just hung up the jeans and I’m waiting for the other load to dry. After it’s done, I’ll put fresh sheets on the bed, then drag the vacuum cleaner out. Oh, the excitement!!

Thunderboomers must be getting close here - I don’t hear anything, but the dogs are going bonkers. (Both puppies are fraidy cats regarding weather. Do you know how much fun it is when the Belgian Mal and the Pyrenees want to be lapdogs because the thunder is gonna eat them?)

I think I’m going to change the baby’s middle name to “Close the Door.” I swear, I’ve said that 324 times today. And the 6-year-old should have been Lily Where-Are-Your-Shoes instead of Lily Katherine.

In other scintillating news, I went to the grocery store this morning - they have a new bagger, who needs a lot more training. And my upper respiratory crud seems to be reaching its final stage. There’s nothing like being in a public place, without a handy tissue, when a messy sneeze strikes. I sneezed into my shirt collar, and… eew. Do not recommend.

Why must you scream? I get enough of that from the house trolls/children.

Quiet day today. Daughter must do homework. Son is playing board games with his grandmother. Rest of us (husband, dogs, cats) are hiding in a dark room enjoying the quiet.

Steaks tonight, since we ended up with hamburgers last night.

Sunny here. I had to run my sprinklers this weekend.

Happy Sunday!

It’s another chilly, grey, rainy day.

Sah-son took his final final today and YAY! school is done!

He got an A on this final, so we know he has an A in Algebra and Astronomy. We’re waiting for his History and Keyboarding grades.

It’s a sleepy day today, I think it’s the weather.

I’ve got a pot of N.O.T. soup starting to cook for supper. I can’t believe it’s so chilly that we’re having soup! The rain has stopped temporarily, but more is promised tonight. From the long-range forecast, we may not see sun till Weds. ugh.

I made the bed and all the laundry is done. Haven’t pulled out the vacuum cleaner. I want a nap, but I won’t. Maybe I’ll be really tired and zonk right out. Maybe.

Howdy Y’all! It’s been a fun day and a little bit of a sad day today.

The fun part was this mornin’/afternoon at deheathenization/brunch. Good service this mornin’. Fr. Gunn gave an excellent sermon and there were a lot of people at the service. Folks from churches he had served in the area, especially from Americus (pronounced Ah-mur-cuss). I think half of the congregation of the church in Americus showed up. First Sunday brunch was hyuuuuuuuuuuuge! Food everywhere. I ended up draggin’ out a couple of card tables for all the extra food plus there was already an extra big table set up for desserts of which there were plenty. So everybody ate large. Not even thinkin’ about dindin.

The sad part is that it looks like JDD’s brother (who has cancer of the liver) is near the end. I know I’ve mentioned he’s at the nursin’ home in Dawson receivin’ hospice care. His pulse rate is very low and he was started on oxygen because he is barely able to breathe on his own. Fortunately he is in no pain. We went up to Dawson to see him when we left the church house and to visit with his and JDD’s folks who are also in the nursin’ home. It does look like an any day now situation. :frowning:

Also, ‘tis sunny and hawt out but it looks like some storm clouds could be gatherin’. A nice rain/tstorm would be nice.

Sari, good news on son’s progress. Sounds like despite his occasional procrastination and such, he is a pretty good student. Congrats to him.

swampy, sorry to hear about your friends’ brother; sadly leaving this world is seldom easy or clean. If he is in no pain and simply sleeps away it is perhaps the best we can hope for; still will not make his passing any easier for his family.

Did the odds and ends of my laundry this morning, watched Leicester City draw with Manchester United and move closer to the title (the odds of them winning at the beginning of the year were 5000-1; it’s like Ohio State winning the NFL title) and dined out on a Xmas present at Olive Garden. I swear they are making the Fettuchini portions 30% bigger, I iz bloated and needed a nap upon return.

Tomorrow is my first day as a gentleman of leisure, so I will embark on a multi-hour, multi-store search for the elusive Oscar Mayer braunsweiger; unfortunately, the nearest stores that I believe will carry it are about 3 hours away, so if I find it I need to get enough for a couple of months. But hey; for my own personal ambrosia, it’s worth the sacrifice.

Peaches , tyy having a 150# bull mastiff as a lap pup. One that my niece once had was scared of everything: thunder, motorcycles, snow, the cat. Personally, I think she just wanted to be in somebody’s lap all of the tim. :stuck_out_tongue:

Had a nice brunchat Dragon Park See Nashville's Famous Dragon at Fannie Mae Dees Park with the heathens. Now it’s time to fix supper. It will be a bit of a fusion dish of quinoa with sauteed Polish sausage and guy lan. Hey, it was what was in the fridge.

I forgot to mention that between gettin’ out of OYKW’s vehicle with gallons of iced tea and a casserole and the kitchen in the Parish Hall, I managed somehow to get a large scrape on my left arm. I have no idea how or when it happened. I looked down and I was bleedin’. I did however manage to carve up a turkey and a couple rotissed chikins with an electric knife without losin’ a hand or an arm so I callin’ it a win.

red that looks like a fun place!

sari sounds like sah-son is acein’ college so far. Good for him!

MetalMouse it’s tough to watch a loved one go. Ron is also a good friend. I’ve been friends with the whole family for a long time. I am grateful to know he is in no pain. He did say OYKW’s and my name and when we were leavin’ he said “I love y’all” which was a wonderful thing to hear!

We ate lunch at Tortas Mexico, an authentic Mexican restaurant.

I wondered how the table and chair piled in the corner came to be broken. :dubious:

Swampy sorry to hear about JDD’s brother. I hope his passing is as painless and peaceful as possible.

Peaches & Red I am grateful that my Newfie is not a lapdog. He settles for sprawling out next to the bed. It makes for some interesting twists and turns trying to make a potty run at 3 am. I feel like I’m playing twister trying not to step on him. :stuck_out_tongue: My Swissie is a lap dog, but I consider him a small dog at 100 lbs, given his big brother.

Today we are baking cakes and brownies. Tomorrow is son’s birthday. Brownies for school (with pizza) and cake for home, after Outback. He is very excited, which is fun. He also wanted chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, but I told him he’d have to get up earlier. He decided that maybe he could wait on those.

It looks like we’re lined up to move back up to Oregon. My husband is taking a job with a start-up, so he can work from home. We’re giving the tenants in our house there notice tomorrow, and then we need to get working on selling this one, etc, etc. I am not psyched for the act of moving, but I am excited to get back to the Northwest.

Happy Sunday all.

No the question is why must he scream that so late? By that point I was out for over an hour already. Race was cold & wet but I NAILED it. Got the outside time goal that I didn’t think I’d get.

Then stopped home for a looong hot shower (about 3 mins) to thaw out before getting dressed & heading out (late) for meeting. Stayed after for a few mins to see R’s new toy. A 2-dr HMMWV with fold-up bench seats in the back. The only thing non-stock on it is the leather bolstered seats in it. Decided the first accessory to be added is a wench to real in the drop line from the balloon. However, someone was being a spoiled brat & said she was refusing to wear a corset.
Hey, a wench can real in & then serve us grog afterwards; so much more useful than a winch.

Stopped at the sto’ on the way home to grab some things but forgot wrappers for the requested tacos. Pizza it is because I don’t want to run out again now & then again after dinner (to the horse-pistol to visit & make a pickup)

& a B in Biology
& a C in Chemistry

Ya know, he might not want to take French.
Remember those 50 Shades books & movies that made the ladies hearts go all a pitter-patter? Well they finally came out with a 50 Shades that will give our Ruble that same warm feeling inside.

Sunday night is windin’ down. We had a thirty minute downpour about an hour ago that has cooled things down nicely outside. We shall now retire to the boudoir to watch teevee etc until sleepy time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Understood, red, and glad that Dora is only 130 pounds! (She could have been larger - her sire was half St. Bernard. Unfortunately, she got her brains from that side of the family. Pretty girl. Easily outsmarted by inanimate objects.) But when both dogs want on my lap because the sky is too loud? 190 pounds of drooling furballs. And ddsun, my mom had a half Newfie lapdog. Thank goodness his other half was something smaller!

Swampy, I’m sorry about your friend.

The Boy has one more final, and he’ll be done with academics until fall. Still has a few days of work left in his apprenticeship program. No complaints - he’ll have 15 hours of college credit when he graduates from high school, and the apprenticeship was great experience for him. (And he tells me that he has an A in economics and probably a solid B in chemistry. Last semester he cruised to an easy A in calculus, and worked his ass off to get a B in English. But if he doesn’t change his major, he’s finished with English, thanks to a previous AP class.)

Storms finally got here mid-afternoon, just in time to cool things down and water the plants. Don’t know how long before the afternoon weather will be tolerable again, so I cooked a big southern Sunday supper - pork and rice, purple hull peas, creamed corn, roasted sweet potatoes, and biscuits. Got a piece of pecan pie hidden for myself later, brownies for everyone else.

And the countdown is on. Twenty more days of school for the girls. A month till graduation. Field days and field trips. Whee!

Survived work without needing to send out a Mayday. Got poke chops with Penzy’s Bavarian rub in the oven, with sweet **N.O.T.**s and green beans with onions and ham on the stove. Hockey on TV.

Trying to roiust the slackers.

Had a roommate who had a 180lbs. Sheppard mix like that. Nothing like sitting on the floor during storms, comforting a creature bigger than I was.

Sorry about JDD’s brother, swampy. :frowning:

Spidey, oh hell yeah!

Which comment were you referring to, the wench or 50 Shades?
Why do I bother to ask, I already know his answer will be, “Yes”.
