Finally, after so much searching and people being jerks to me I finally have a job. What, you ask? Well, you are looking at one of New York’s most recently certified Asbestos Project Air Sampling Technician. I just finished my two day class, took the test, and got a 98%! I rule! Now I just have to wait for the company to call me to get my physical and then respirator fit test, and I can go into the field.
The best part? I got PAID to take the class, and get PAID to take a physical. I’ve never looked forward to going to the doctor’s until now. 
Yippee!

normally, when i hear folks proclaim “i have a job!” i offer my condonences, but it sounds like you got a fun one. have a ball! 
well, it might noe be a lot of fun, but it is easy, and it does pay well. Pretty much, I set up some air pumps, wait a few hours, then collect the samples. Not hard at all, but maybe little boring. Oh well, I can deal.

Is that through the state?
Well, I’m licensed by the state, but I work for a private company. The company itself is really heavy into asbestos testing, monitoring, and so forth. The state makes the people getting rid of the asbestos hire us to make sure they do things properly.

I got a job today, myself. Nothing huge, but it’s a job and I’m very happy.
