Agency Attorney for the City of New York. The title “Agency Attorney” is a generic one that applies to a lot of different types of jobs throughout NYC. In my job, I will be working for judges in a clerkship-like environment (no client representation).
Congratulations! I think you’ll enjoy employment - as I was telling another friend from law school recently, it’s pretty great. People tell you to do things, you do them, and then they give you money! If you went to law school shortly after college, they’re probably giving you more money than you’ve ever earned before!
I was actually just getting ready to start a very similar thread- I got the call from AT&T yesterday that so long as I pass my background check and drug screening, I start the training classes march 1!
It’ss been a long time coming for me… glad to see things picking up for you, too!
I didn’t; I was in the workforce 10 years between college & law school (I’m 34). However, my current pay is more than I’ve ever made before… the difference between my last professional pay, and my current pay, will pay off my law school loans in 1 year. Now don’t everyone rush to think I’m making $$$$ hand over fist…
a. my last professional job paid rather badly. The last 3 years I worked there, because COLA were not made, I actually had a decrease in pay adjusted for inflation. However, I was able to get by on it in Michigan.
b. I have little law school debt (academic scholarship covered 85%).
