I finally bought Sims2 about three weeks ago. I’ve got a number of families that I play, mainly in Strangeville. There’s whatshisname (I can’t remember it at the moment) Brewster, his teenage daughter Missy and his adopted toddler daughter (another name I can’t remember. I haven’t played that family in a couple of days).
Sylvia Cryo and her son Socrates. She’s got the knowledge aspiration and was hoping he’d turn out to be a brain. Hasn’t happened yet, but he’s still in elementary school.
But my insane sim is Amy Smythesson. She’s married to Clarke - they were roommates, but her family aspiration got the better of her, she got poor Clarke with his knowledge aspiration into bed, and then got him to propose. She managed to get pregnant the night of their honeymoon with Tyler, their oldest son. Tyler’s a teenager now and takes after his father with the knowledge aspiration. Their second son, Warren, followed soon after and once he was out of diapers and he and Tyler got into private school (they were rejected once, and Clarke had a mental breakdown requiring that the therapist help him along), along came the twins, Kerrigor and Gracie.
Well, as soon as they were born she wanted another baby. Not just one though…one of her major aspirations is to have 10 babies (for a whopping 15,000 aspiration points - I locked it to try to actually make it). Well, there are four so far, with the twins still infants, and Clarke, being unable to resist her wily ways, doesn’t know yet that there’s another baby on the way. Amy’s hoping for twins again. (Is there a limit to the number of family members in one house?)
Clarke is a little worn out, though. He never seems to have time to pursue his dreams of seeing a ghost or being saved from death - it’s nothing but diapers and bottles. He’s just glad that they’re independently wealthy, or things would be even tougher, what with bills to pay and neither he or Amy having a job. Who has time, with all the babies? Even with a nanny to help out, things are still rough.
Whoa. Good luck with that one. The number of Sims you can have on a lot simultaneously is dependent on the speed of your computer; I thought that the absolute max was 8 Sims, which means at most you could have 6 kids, with no maid/nanny/repairman or anyone ever coming over to visit. (I could very well be wrong on this).
To fulfill that want, you might have to move one or the both of them out of the house and leave the other to be a single parent. I guess the alternative is to get the kids grown and moved out, but good luck doing that in a Sim’s lifespan, even with the elixir of life. Seems like a weird want to have, considering all the technical limitations that make it near impossible.
I’m thinking that if I get Tyler to be friends with Missy Brewster’s dad, he could invite Tyler to move in (maybe…if teens can move out of their parents’ house). That would leave room for three more babies - taking the total to seven (turning aging off whenever possible. Sure, it means the babies don’t grow up, so there could be lots of infants in the house…but potentially doable with the nanny there).
Well, you can only have 8 household members (mom/dad and 6 kids). Maids, gardeners, etc can still come over. Friends can still visit. Your Sims just can’t have anymore children (either from birth or adoption) until some of them have grown up and moved out. It’s insane, but I’ve managed to do it a couple of times, just for fun.
Tip: Once the oldest child becomes an adult, he can take several of the other kids with him when he moves out, leaving room for your Sims to have 4 more kids! Oh Joy!
Kerrigor?!? Oh my god, Lsura, I think you just made me fall in love with you, and I don’t even swing that way! Sabriel is one of my favorite YA fantasy novels. I like it so much that I wrote a paper about it this semester. Is Kerrigor as evil as his namesake? More importantly, are you going to name one of his brothers Touchstone?
I must go and make an Old Kingdom family in Sims 2 right now. Sabriel and Touchstone are going to have uberbabies and lots of 'em.
Well, Kerrigor doesn’t have much of a personality at the moment, since he’s an infant. He has to get into private school though, and I think his aspiration will need to be either fortune or popularity. And he just might have a criminal career path.
As for siblings’ names…it depends on what he gets. If the twins had been boy-boy instead of boy-girl, I probably would have gone with Kerrigor and Rogerrick, so I could have the good-evil twin thing going on.
But yeah, I think the rest of his siblings names are going to have to be from those books. Girls, I think, will be named Lirael and Sabriel, and any more boys may have to be Touchstone, Sameth and Abhorsen…plus any other names that come along.
I’m wondering if it would still work towards Amy’s goal of 10 kids if Warren were to die…then maybe Clarke could finally see a ghost. And Tyler could too, since that’s one of his wants. It’d probably damage her aspirations pretty seriously though.
