I have netflix streaming, hulu plus, and--and that's all

What movies and tv shows must I watch?

Don’t worry about matching my tastes or naming things I haven’t already seen–I’ll filter appropriately.

Thanks for any advice, and ftr I’ve already completely caught up on Community, It’s Always Sunny, 30 Rock, The Office, and House (and yeesh season 7 of House is bad. :frowning: )

I also can watch movies (but not tv shows, since it’s like two or three bucks an episode…) on Amazon on Demand.

Also, btw, is there no way to watch any Indiana Jones movies online at all? I’ve been wanting to rewatch that series…

Watch Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Veronica Mars, and the X-files.

All stream on Netflix entirely.

That Mitchell and Webb Look

Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, I watched all of the UK series Doc Martin on Netflix streaming. I liked it but don’t know if you will.

Peep Show (hulu)

Friday Night Lights is also available on Netflix.

Friday Night Lights is a very good show, so if it’s available via Netflix streaming, I’ll second the recommendation. (And it’s very good and interesting even if you’ve no interest in football. The relationship between the football coach and his guidance-counselor wife is great.)

Ooh, shiny! I know I’ve checked for Buffy and X-Files within the last few months and they were not there. But they are now!

I hope to mooch some good suggestions off this thread, too.

Here are my favorite movies/TV shows currently available on Netflix instant, in categories I’m making up.

Romantic or sweet but different/not sappy:
Dogfight
Happy Accidents
It Happened One Night
Up
Amelie
The Baxter

Hilarious:
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie
Strangers with Candy
Stella
The State
Reno 911
Clifford
Louie

Just… awesome:
World’s Greatest Dad
Wonder Boys
The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill
The Fifth Element
Moon
Zombieland
Veronica Mars
Every Little Step
Important Things with Demetri Martin
The King of Kong
Man on Wire

If you like The Office you should try Parks and Recreation. The first season isn’t great, it’s like they were trying to hard to be like The Office. But it’s only 6 episodes and the 2nd season finds it’s own voice right away and is awesome all the way through.

Beyond Parks and Rec, here are a few of my other favorites from Instant Watch. I’ll try not to go overboard.

TV or miniseries
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations
Pushing Daisies
Dead Like Me
Futurama (both the series and the movies)
The Pillars of the Earth
Mystery Science Theater 3000
Battlestar Galactica
Dexter

Documentaries
Champion
Man on Wire
Buena Vista Social Club
Anything by Ken Burns but particularly his Civil War series and Mark Twain

Movies
Moon
Amelie
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnasus
The Messenger

I hope you’re right. I tried watching Parks and Rec, and tried very hard to like it, but I couldn’t force myself through it any longer, and gave up. I’ll give it a second go.
