A friend of mine that is in the Peace Corps sent me a kalpak from Kyrgyzstan about two years ago. It looks almost identical to the ones pictured in that link but my head’s too big to allow the bottom to fold up like those do.

That’s not me in the photo, but the hat is identical. Unfortunately, I got a pinhead-sized one, so I can’t wear it. :smack: It fits nicely on my plastic skull, though.

CynicalGabe, the symbol on your cap is the lambda (the lower case Greek l). It was the original symbol for the Gay Liberation Front (pre-Stonewall, but is still used today).
It’s also the physics symbol for wavelength.
