What you did, worm, was stealing. Ads pay for this site. By depriving the advertisers from their contracted right to be seen by the people who came to the site, you stole from them. You should be prosecuted and imprisoned. For at least 2 years. And if you are under 18, your parents should be prosecuted too.

Falcon, I was up late last night. Gl0worm (or however the hell he spells it) had started a thread called, roughly, “No More Advertising!” When you selected it, you discovered the banner ad at the top of the page was replaced by a black box with another message from wormser about getting rid of all advertising or somesuch.
Now, in all fairness, I have to say, I was momentarily impressed by this little ‘feat’. It’s certainly beyond my technical capabilities at the moment. That takes care of the first five seconds.
After that, my opinion was pretty much what others have said, with a little less violence. Yeah, the banner ads might be intrusive, but only if you’re dumb enough to just hang around the top of each page. They also pay the freight for the board, which IMO is one pretty nifty piece of software, with all the threads it keeps track of.
So, Gl0worm, you might be a fairly precocious kid who, under certain circumstances, I’d probably say, “Cool. Now, put it back the way it was before the moderator bans you. And by the way --” WHACK ON THE HEAD – “don’t be hassling my favorite board anymore!” You may be a sharp kid, Gl0worm, but you’re also an immature little brat with delusions of his own importance.
As for there being no room for childish games on this board, I entirely disagree. However, they’re grown-up childish games, and not for the likes of you.
