I’ve had a Gmail account for months now, and have 50 unused invites sitting in my account. So it’s not surprising that I completely forgot that I had signed up for the “Gmail account waiting list” that they offer when you go there without an invitation.
Amusingly, I just got my official invitation from Gmail.
I suppose this means they’re nearing officially opening their services to the general public?
I got one too. Thought I’d given them an address that would have landed the invite in my Gmail inbox, but nope, it went to one I rarely use… Kind of peculiar to hear them talking about all the cool new features when I’ve been using them for months.
Me too. I believe back in the day before I got an invite, I signed up on the main Gmail page to be emailed news about updates, maybe this is it? A little late, though.
Yep, I got one today too - it went to my account at my old university, which is forwarded to my gmail account. So I got a gmail invite at my gmail address.
