I just helped put out a water!

The building of the radio/TV stations where I work got a new roof job that took six months to complete, because in the past, the roof leaked onto thousands of dollars of equipment. Can’t have that! So, we got a roof job.

Today, there was torrential rain for a few hours, and then, without warning, there were waterfalls in all the hallways! None of the offices got leaked in, but in at least one area of each hallway, it was like Niagara coming out of the ceiling tiles! It rained all inside the gallery of antique radios and gramophones in the lobby.

While I was out there moving stuff around so it wouldn’t get destroyed, I was missing out on another show. I came back to the control room, and it’s raining on top of my desk and computer! It had been doing so for some time, too. No damage except for wet papers, and some wet carpet.

I think I smell a lawsuit. Boy, I hope I smell a lawsuit! Talk about yer shoddy workmanship!

“Put out a water”? How? By dumping buckets of fire on it?

Ooh, I like the “put out a water” new-phrase-for-the-week! I’m going to borrow it.

Oh hell, I wish I had not thought that: I now fear that karmic forces will indeed send me “a water” with which to deal. No laundry for me, then. :smack:

I’m a bit worried, though in case fishbicycle feels a bit out of his/her element.
