Could have been worse. Could have found a beer bottle that somebody peed in. :smack:
Huh.
I only saw it once, in the theater. Laughed a lot.
I’ll have to see it again.
Umm…blush…yeah… Too many open windows, it seems and not enough caffeine to pay attention.
I have a friend who had plans to make his GF watch the original Dumb & Dumber. When I heard that, my reaction was:
Excuse me, but what were you thinking? When you retell that story, it can only end with “She hated it and I’ve never seen her again … she must have left me sometime before the ski trip scenes.” or “She hated it and two decades later she won’t let me show it to our kids.”
Now, since I had no such admonition, I showed my kids… and throughout their grade school years they would demand we rent the VHS (mid 90’s, remember?) over and over again. We probably watched it 30 times (second only to Rat Race, another lowbrow comedy classic).
And on the lighter side, Sea Bass was played by Hall of Fame hockey player Cam Neely, currently president of the Boston Bruins.
So you liked it a lot. Me too It’s one of those that in your mind you feel you *should *be ashamed of liking but if you admit it, usually other people admit to liking it (a lot ) too.
I have always enjoyed this movie quite a bit, myself. Fun stuff!
*Maybe you should put on these extra gloves. My hands are starting to sweat.
We’ve landed on the moon!*
Yes! I love the continuation of the action in that scene. When Harry starts choking Lloyd, Lloyd screams “You’re hands are FREEZING!” Not worried about his friend choking him in a rage caused by his selfishness, but distress over how cold the hands delivering the possibility of death are. Kind of sums up the whole movie for me, ymmv.
G’day, mate!
I mentioned this in the original thread for the recent, official Dumb & Dumber sequel, but it’s worth mentioning it again whenever the opportunity arises.
Remember the dirty old lady in the hospital bed? I didn’t see the movie, but she was featured in the trailers as pretending to hid something under her bed “inside the turkey”? That bit part actress is my kid’s Sunday school teacher.
Fell off the jetway again.

“You’re hands are FREEZING!” and “We have no job! No food! OUR PET’S HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!!!” are probably my two favorite lines from that movie.
That and after Lloyd spikes that hitman’s food as a prank with hotsauce and he chokes to death on his own stomach acids, how Jim Carrey delivers that pointing HAAAAA!!! at him on the floor is gold.
“How’s your burger?” <snicker-snicker>
My kids and I use that one all the time.
Also - “Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?..”
What is the soup du jour?
It’s the soup of the day.
Mmmm…that sounds good. I’ll have that.
“That John Denver’s full of shit, man.”
I read somewhere that Carey adlibbed that line because the guys weren’t SAG workers and they couldn’t talk back.
But D&D is a classic movie. One for the ages.
“Samsonite. I was way off.”
