I Like Circus Peanuts

Heavens ! This is the first time in 55-plus years, that I’ve come across any mention of Circus Peanuts. I’m a lifelong UK citizen and resident. In the late 1950s, when I was aged nine, my primary school in England hosted, under some exchange-type arrangement, a visit by a charming young lady teacher from the US, who took us for some classes. She gave us some samples of American candy, including Circus Peanuts – which I thought strange, but nice.

And that has been my entire experience of Circus Peanuts, from that day to this. Having spent a good deal of time on various mostly-US-based message boards in the past few years, and seen nothing whatever about Circus Peanuts, I had imagined that this particular form of confectionery must have died out decades ago. Pleased to discover that I was wrong, and they’re still around.

The UK equivalent of Circus Peanuts is foam bananas and Pink Shrimps. Same thing, just different shapes.
