I love the "HANK" ad.

HANK…
HANK…
HANK…
ba-dum ba-dum ba-dum ba DA-DA-DA-DA-DANH:
HANK!
da da DAaa, ba-dum ba DA-DA-DA-DA-DANH:
HANK!

Yes, the Starbuck’s ad. The cheering section by his front door, and then on the bridge… the bleachers by his escalator… in his office. The great pixelated “HANK” sign that they hold up for him. The crowning touch is the big-headed Hank Mascot (which looks eerily like him) doing “The Worm” while the crowd chants Hank’s name in a whisper.

Green and white (Starbuck’s colors) and a green tint to the film stock, as well as prominent shots of the product, make me honestly wish that people would cheer for me when I bought coffee. I watch this commercial – and chant along! – whenever I catch it on, and will even go back a channel if I surf past and notice it.

I liked the Roy one better. Same concept, just a guy walking around at the office while Survivor followed him around playing “Eye of the Tiger” personally retooled for him.

Here’s the ad

Both are good, but the subtle touches in the Hank one make it a little better. You got to notice all the people in the crowd, it’s obviously his parents, gym teacher and all kinds of other people he would likely know. My favorite detail is when the risers are in the office and they all stand up the guys in the back row are all crouched under the drop ceiling…funny stuff.

That’s a great site astro, thanks.

I love both ads! But I like the Survivor ad better. I love the line “middle management is right in his grasp”, it’s so great…and yet so sad.

I love how they show the individuals in the bleachers saying “Hank” with such feeling. It’s so poignant–like some sort of Rocky-esque sports movie from 1979.

You mean “Glen.”

It starts with Glen, but ends with Roy.
