I love trail mixes

I see so many varieties of trail mix on the shelves and I get confused. Some have more fruit, some have mostly nuts, and others have candy thrown in. I got some yesterday at Sam’s Club that looks pretty good. It has a lot of fruit, including kiwi, but it didn’t have a lot of nuts, so I through in a bag of soy nuts.

Anyways, what kinds do you all like, and do ya’ll have a “secret recipe”?

I like to make my own mix, and I like a sweet and salty combo, so I usually throw in mixed salted nuts, dried apricots, dried cranberries, dates, pretzels and M&Ms. Or I mix together a bag of Chex Mix with a bag of M&Ms and some raisins.

Which, reflecting upon this, is not really trail mix so much as it is a PMS mix!

My fave trail mix recipe is:
Go to Sam’s Club.
Buy the Tropical Trail Mix. (I think that’s what you just got, deena.)

A much simpler version is:
Go to store.
Buy a bag of dried pineapple chunks.

No, wait… that’s equally hard. Or easy, depending.

From regular ol’ GORP (raisins and peanuts) to some fancy trail mixes, I like 'em all. (Mostly.)

When I need my chocolate fix yet want to eat healthy, I mix this up:

-unsalted roasted almonds
-dried sweetened cranberries
-unsalted, shelled sunflower seeds
-dried apricots
-milk chocolate chips

Delicious and (mostly) nutritious! :smiley:

and dried mango
