See, it’s an old joke. The follow-up line is, “If your parents didn’t have any children, chances are, you won’t either.”
It’s not neccesarily wrong actually… If there was a recessive gene for it then it’s completely possible. (I have no idea if this is the case or not).
OTOH it does sound pretty stupid when you first hear it.
