I"m leaving, and never hit 100 posts...

Tep, even though I havent had the honor of having a direct convo with you, I have heard really good stuff about you. I wish you the best, don’t let them break you, and don’t come back a changed person. We like you just the way you are.

Uggh! Bad memories!
When I joined in 92 I went in for the same thing, 98xl. I, too, went to Ft LostInTheWoods. Unfortunately, I had a slight hang up at the reception battalion when I went for my security interviewing with the federal investigators there. I ended up spending *20 days at reception! Seems they found out about my international sex slave ring. Or my international pen pals. Or the drugs. Or something. Anyway, I didn’t get the security clearance. They asked me what I wanted to do. I asked them what MOS had the longest school, my reasoning being I wanted to waste as much of the 4 year term I had committed to not doing actual work. Well, I ended up picking x-ray school. I followed up two years later with nuclear medicine school and that’s what I’m doing today. I extended three years, so spent seven years in. I got out in jan 99.

Boot camp sucks ass. Don’t sweat it and don’t be intimidated by the drill sgts. They have no life and no balls. They’re usually the stereotypical army people: Alcoholic, uneducated wife-beaters. Console yourself in the fact that you know you’re better than them and you’ll do fine. Don’t volunteer for anything. Eat the chili-mac, it is damn good after a day of field drills. I was in Bravo 6-10 while at Leonardwood. Do you know which company you’ll be going to? I can’t remember if we knew beforehand or if we were assigned at reception. Oh yeah, make sure to rub your ass a lot and do deep-knee-bends after the penicillin shot.
Fuck, this is taking me back. I remember boot camp so vividly.

Oh yeah, when they tell you to take off your mask in the gas chamber, wait until everyone else has taken theirs off. Your exposure time will be less.

Coming back again. Democritus was right that boot camp sucks, BUT, not all drill sergeants are “uneducated alcoholic wife-beaters.” Mine was tough but fair, and COULDN’T have a wife as SHE was a woman. Sgt. Carol Ogg, ah, the memories. She was short and wide and as we saw her come striding at us for the first time, in the ugly drizzle that was falling, with that billowing poncho that made her look even BIGGER, we gals huddled together like a flock of sheep, scared to death. Just remember what others have already said(chant it as a mantra)“it will end, it will end…” I wish I could find out where she is now.

::sniff::sob::cry:: :frowning: Teppei is one of my two best friends in the whole world and I just said goodbye to him (IRL) tonight. I’ll be back at college when he leaves ::sniff::

I just want to say that I’m so glad we’re friends teppei, and I’m really going to miss you. I know that this is what you really want in life and I wish you all the best! Thanks for putting up with me when I go spastic and for being such a great friend. We’ve had so much fun these past few years! I hope we will always be friends. Who would have thought that dork Rachel ate lunch with would become one of the best friends I’ve ever had? Anyway, “Don’t let the man get you down” (empire records) and don’t change too much, you’re great the way you are.

I’ll be good and not cry now, well not too much at least…::sniff:: agh! too late! Good luck teppei! I look forward to seeing you at Christmas.

Teppei no baka!

Well, I don’t think I’ve actually played a major role in a thread of yours, but let me thank you, as a civilian, for choosing to put your flesh and spirit in harms way to keep me and mine safe.

Gods watch over you.
