I’m rooting for Chris Christie’s run for President (He has dropped from the race Jan 2024)

Fake noose!

It doesn’t completely absolve him, no, but in 2016, it was understandable. The electorate had stuck the nation with Trump as president, and anyone with any sense would want to do what they could to make that presidency at least minimally functional.

It was only later that exactly how big a disaster Trump actually was became apparent. Hell, I figured he’d be too lazy to do much of anything, and that he’d leave all the actual work to other people, and only attend the “fun” stuff.

Burning a bridge would be a new twist I guess.

He knew Trump for what he was and yet he was on Trump’s debate prep team in 2020. Even after he caught Covid at one of the meetings, ending up in the ICU. Maybe Jan. 6 actually made him change his mind about Trump or he is just doing all this to get attention. Yes, it’s always good when GOP leaders tell the truth about Trump but I’m not assigning any purely altruistic reasons to Christie for doing so.

That’s not a bad idea. CNN does entertain Republican points of view from Republicans, in panel discussions and suchlike. Christie would make a great addition to those discussions. I hope CNN is considering adding him to its list of commentators.

Joe Lieberman said today he will explore Christie’s interest in becoming one of the candidates on the No Labels Party ticket.

I guess we’ll see how dedicated Christie really is to making sure Trump doesn’t regain the White House. No Labels is funded by Harlan Crow (Clarence Thomas’s benefactor) and other dark money. Their goal is to see Joe Biden defeated.

Christie has been an ABC contributor since 2018, I believe. They suspended the contract when he began his campaign, so he may go back there, I guess.

Can you be on both ABC & CNN?

golf clap

I wish Christie had seen and declared the truth of just how bad Trump is a lot earlier, but he did his party, and the nation, a service in mounting this campaign and blasting the frontrunner as much and as pungently as he has. He’s gone up a few notches in my book, at least, as a result.
