I used to watch that show every night. It’s where we met Jeff, Peanut and Walter…and Rosie for that matter.
Josie Lawrence and Tony Slattery were my favorites, especially in party quirks.
I found Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie funnier in the British version. Wayne Brady was very predictable. I found the American version somehow squelched the comedy peaks.
I think some of these memories are actually from TWO different networks.
There was HA! and there was Comedy Channel. One was mostly old tv shows and movies (it’s where I met “McHale’s Navy” for the first time and bizarre short lived 60s comedies like “My Occasional Wife”)
And the other channel would show Higgins Boys and Gruber, Marc Maron’s show, Inside the Comedy Mind and other great original programming. I think each channel lasted a year or two and then they merged to form Comedy Central.
All the shows mentioned so far in this thread were there post-merger.
