I’m going off line for a week.
We moved from SC to Florida about six years ago, and during that time, we’ve arranged for our house to be rented out. We never made a profit, but it was a nice tax write-off.
Then, we get a tax notice that our house has gone up in value about $20,000.
WTF, say we, so Ivylad calls our realtor up there.
Sure ‘nuff, she said, houses in your area in good condition are going for about double what we paid for our house about 10 years ago.
So, with dollar signs in our eyes and paint brushes in hand, we trek to SC to repaint the house, arrange for new appliances and new carpeting, and get our house all pretty to pass along to the next homeowner.
I plan on eating at Sticky Fingers and maybe devouring a bowl of she-crab soup up there. I’ll see you later!
Good luck. Congratulations on the nice profit.
Sounds like low country to me but if it’s the upstate I’d love to have a drink with you guys.
Sorry, Bruce Daddy, we’ll be in the Charleston-Summerville area.
I don’t supposed anyone wants to come help paint, do you?
Hello? Hello? knock knock Is this thing on?

Girrrrrrrrrl, I would love to come help you paint. Painting is one thing which I am actually good at. However, I am also in the process of shining up my house for the market. I wish you luck !!!
Ivylad wants to try out his new toy, a refurbished paint sprayer. We’ve heard from the realtor…apparently the place is ve-herry buggy and when the repiped the house, they left some of the pipes exposed.
I shall be having a few strong words with the property agent.
What a coincidence, I’ll be in South Carolina in a few weeks and plan on looking for a house.
Three bedroom, two bath, fenced in backyard, fireplace.
Soon to be freshly painted, with new carpeting, and a new stove and dishwasher.
